Head of Global RAPS AB&FIB – Your future position? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Fragrance & Beauty Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety (RAPS) team, as the Head of global RAPS AB&FIB.

We are looking for an experienced professional who will lead our team to deliver regulatory services to customers, enable launch of new innovations and ingredient registrations, product compliance and regulatory surveillance. You will represent the AB/FIB RAPS organization in the Global RAPS Leadership Team, reporting to the Global Head of RAPS, and will be based in Argenteuil, France; working four days onsite and one from home a week.

 

On this role you will:  

  • Develop the RAPS organization to by highly customer-focused to support business growth.
  • Manage projects and budget for compliance and registration activities.
  • Build strong working relationships with the AB/FIB business and S&T leadership teams to present RAPS strategy and partner to support business growth. 
  • Develop the regulatory digital strategy for the AB Business to transform capabilities to service customers and manage product catalogues
  • Promote global best practices and process harmonization to ensure ingredient compliance
  • Participate in Trade Associations to gain intelligence on potential new ingredient or product regulations and possible impacts.  Manage implementation of mitigating strategies
  • Be a lead influencer to bring internal strategy with RAPS, The Business and Externally in Trade Associations

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the global team in charge of the regulatory services.
  • Lead communication to business leadership and senior business management relationships
  • Collaboration with the Product Safety Sciences organization for the technical support to ingredient registrations and safety assessments
  • Collaboration with the Science & Technology Department to support the pipeline of new ingredient innovations
  • Manage performance, compensation, and workload of personnel globally.  Collaborate with Regional RAPS leaders on matrix management of people locally.
  • Lead relationships with internal and external customers to manage complex compliance solutions tailored to business need.
  • Targeted external influencing/advocacy projects at the Trade Association level
  • Ensure the integrity of the regulatory data for Active Beauty
  • Drive systems development needs for execution by the supporting IT function.
  • Be an expert in design to help design appropriate digital functionality

Your professional profile includes:

  • Masters or Ph.D in Chemistry, Biology or related field
  • 10-15 years regulatory experience in the chemical and/or consumer goods industry , with experience in roles of increasing technical responsibility and people management
  • Experience influencing business and external trade associations on strategic regulatory matters.
  • Fluent English. French or other languages are a plus
