Senior Manager FIM (Fragrance Ingredients Management) – Your future position?


As Senior Manager in the global Fragrance Ingredients Management (FIM) organization, you will be supporting the Head of FIM, by leading and contributing to key initiatives of the department and delivering on FIM’s missions defined, alongside the team. This position will be based in Argenteuil, France.


Reporting to the Head of FIM, you will assume an active leadership role in the FIM team, reinforcing considerably senior expertise necessary to deliver on our Business Partnership and Systems Excellence missions. 


By leading and contributing to key initiatives and projects of the department, you will get rapidly familiarized with the complexity and unique context of FIM, at the crossroads of creation and development, research and operations. 


Your prior experience in relevant fields of activity, your strong learning capacity and your capability to think strategically, allows you to be operational quickly, and become a precious support to the Head of FIM and the team. 


You will:

  • Support the Head of FIM and the team to deliver on the 3 following core missions of the department:
    • Best Palette for Perfumers and Givaudan Ingredients Strategy
    • Business Partner to Creation & Development / Commercial / S&T / Operations
    • System & Process Excellence
  • Represent FIM in key strategic initiatives as assigned by head of FIM (e.g. integration projects, F&F initiatives, etc.).
  • Lead and manage projects as assigned by Head of FIM.
  • Get ready to rapidly take over functional responsibilities as delegated by Head of FIM.
  • Engage with relevant internal customers and stakeholders, allowing to progress FIM and Ingredients agenda.
  • Become proficient in all FIM and Creation legacy systems.
  • Get abreast with ingredient and formula cost management concepts and related systems.
  • Learn about essential peripheral activities to FIM in order to apprehend total scope.
  • Liaise with other functions within Givaudan / internal customers, to ensure all business needs are understood and captured appropriately, to direct strategies and actions.
  • Define and implement global best practices with regards to ingredients and formula management processes, in sync with development and creation processes.
  • Facilitate sharing of information, ways of working and issue resolution within the regional and cross regional boundaries.
  • Represent the FIM department in relevant missions and where appropriate.
  • Contribute creating an environment where the team can perform at its best, while exhibiting Givaudan DNA and Culture.

Your professional profile includes:

  • University Degree/Business/Chemistry/Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 15+ years of experience in the Fragrance Industry in preference or in related industries on the supplier or customer side.
  • Functional experience can be in fields such as, creation, development, Science & Technology, procurement or supply chain, QC, commercial, controlling, data analysis, manufacturing, ERP systems, project management, engineering.
  • Interest for the Fragrance Industry; demonstrate competent olfactory skills, ability to understand the formulas and communicate in fragrance language.
  • Affinity for information systems and data management.
  • Ability to translate stakeholders’ requirements into effective strategies and actions; thrive on cross-functional and cross division collaboration with main stakeholders.
  • Deep passion and curiosity for the business and customers.
  • Ability to think strategically, demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver a strategic vision for the future.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate multicultural and cross functional teams.
  • Languages: fluent English (French is an asset).
