Associate Flavourist, Oral Care

A unique opportunity if you have the appetite for change; to enhance your creative flavour palette to create new tastes and sensations in the Oral Care segment that is more than just mint!

Based in Ashford, you will follow a internal fast track development programme with the intention to progress to a Flavourist in Givaudan's Global Oral Care Category.

This adaptation training programme will include ingredient learning by smelling, tasting and regulatory training. The training will be delivered in the UK and is designed to upskill in Oral Care for those who have already demonstrated experience in the creative field. You will have a master Oral Care Flavourist mentor who will support you during the training programme with wider access to our internal category expert teams.

As Associate Flavourist, you will work for a company that touches billions of consumers more than a hundred times a day. You will be based in our site in Ashford and report directly to the Head of Oral Care Global.

Core responsibilities

Participate in the Flavour Training Programme:

• You will learn what ingredients to use for creation of all kinds of toothpaste and mouthwash flavours, like Peppermint, Spearmint, Eucalyptus, Wintergreen, Aniseed, Citrus, Fruity, Floral, and many more, and how you can adapt these flavours to different taste preferences in different countries;

• Assist Flavourists on customer projects: as the best learning is on the job, you will work, guided by an experienced Flavourist, on creating new flavours for our customers or for research projects.

You will also:

• Seek the latest developments and influences in Oral Care, Food and Fragrance;

• Evaluate global Oral Care products and participate in tasting sessions with your colleagues.

Success profile:

• Ideally a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Organic or Analytical Chemistry, Biology

• Creative flavouring experience in the Food, Fragrance or Beauty industry or related area within a creator, researcher or evaluator role

• Solid organoleptic skills - part of the recruitment process is an organoleptic test

• Experience with project management

• Demonstrated commercial understanding

• Willingness to travel

• Willingness to relocate and undertake training in the UK [Kent], with a willingness to be open to future mobility
