Global Category Manager (Raw Materials Procurement) - Your future position?

 

You will be based in Ashford (UK) and reporting to Senior Category Manager (Aroma Chemicals).

 

You will develop and implement global strategies (and related tactical plans) to source important/complex RM categories (for instance mint, menthol) and secure supply for those categories following business plan under guidance but with autonomy.

You will work closely with Oral Care Business and production and be the Business Partner (BP) for oral care.

 

You will:

 

  • Manage the category according to the 2025 procurement strategy
  • Drive the development and implementation of RM category strategies
  • Analyse market and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio
  • Lead sourcing strategy development within cross functional team for key categories
  • Drive sourcing strategy implementation by leading major RFQs and key negotiations
  • Negotiate contracts globally
  • Select, manage and audit suppliers
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and involve creation and manufacturing in development of optimization plans
  • Build key supplier relationship, and lead GBS escalated supplier conflict resolutions
  • Communicate with suppliers any forthcoming changes in demand/specifications
  • Ensure contract cover for materials and supplier compliance to contracts
  • Ensure vendor performance at target levels
  • AS BP : Close collaboration with key internal Oral Care partners to support this business
  • Support the responsible sourcing projects implementation & provide information to Procurement Sustainability Manager when needed
  • Provide information for business planning process
  • Develop cost reduction projects
  • Provide price forecast and market trends for key commodities

 

You?

 

  • University degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in Procurement or functional experience with regional or global scope
  • Knowledge of F&F/FMCG/Chemical industry
  • Experience of managing a chemical, ingredients or raw materials portfolio
  • Specific technical and market knowledge in the respective category
  • Fluent in English, other languages a +
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Cultural awareness and adaptable to fast changing requirements
  • Passion for success with a high energy level
  • International exposure in previous role
  • 20-30% travelling to visit our factories and suppliers
