Mechanical Engineer - Your future role?


Are you renowned for your project management skills and your mechanical knowledge? If so we have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Mechanical Engineer based at our Fragrance & Beauty production site in Ashford, Kent.
Whilst working within the hub of the Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities team you will be engaged in a diverse and rewarding role, focusing on both implementations of complex engineering projects and site mechanical compliance. On a day-to-day basis you will be interacting with other Engineering Project Managers and stakeholders across various different functions of the organisation; to ultimately ensure the project portfolio is delivered to support business growth and that the site remains compliant when it comes to mechanical safety.

 

 

In this role, as a dynamic individual you will:
 
Site Responsible Mechanical Engineer

  • Work with current legislation such as PSSR, LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR, and internal standards/guidance to govern the outcomes and direction associated with mechanical safety on-site to ensure compliance.
  • Act as the specialist for mechanical elements of the Management of Change process.

 
Project Management

  • Manage and execute capital projects and studies for large-scale engineering projects, inclusive of all design requirements and adherence to regulations/EHS policies.
  • Manage dedicated resources as per project assignment (internal and external).
  • Develop all relevant documentation as part of the project life cycle inclusive of cost estimations, credit applications, specifications and handover manuals.
  • Establish budgetary control for approved projects. 

 
 

Your professional background includes:
 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering or Maintenance Certification.
  • Significant experience in engineering, including management of multiple process engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in project management inclusive of stakeholder management and communications.
  • Extensive knowledge of EHS-focused legislation/standards – e.g. PSSR, LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR.
  • Good command in using project controlling tools.
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
  • Good knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP/Microsoft Software).
