We are recruiting a Microbiologist for our Preservation – S&T team, temporary contract of 4 months, renewable, to replace the Microbiologist during the maternity leave period.

You will report to the Senior Investigator.

Primary responsibilities:

• Under moderate guidance of the team manager with the S&T Team Leads, follow standard protocols, perform moderately complex microbiological analyses in vitro and on food matrices.
• Assist the Global Preservation team with the documentation and investigation of natural solutions for the preservation of food products.
• Help analyze data of classical microbiology (challenge tests) and of DNA metabarcoding for a better comprehension of the microbiota ecosystem in food products.
• Record results based on standard operating procedures.
• Identify abnormal results and refer to team manager.
• Enter test results in laboratory information system. 
• Participate in the communication with internal and external partners.

Your profile:

• General knowledge of food microbiology, including the use of several identification keys and biochemical tests to identity bacteria, and general laboratory safety.
• Skills in manipulating standard class II microbiology laboratory equipment with speed, accuracy and safety.
• Teamwork spirit.
• Have an earned a master in microbiology, biochemistry or other related field. 
• 3+ years of experience in classical microbiological methods, notably: challenge tests and manipulation of different groups of microorganisms including bacteria, yeasts and moulds.
