New Product Development Technologist


We are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Technologist based in Avignon, as a permanent contract: 

 

 

Reporting directly to the natural ingredients technical manager based in Avignon, the New Product Development Technologist will support all the ranges of natural ingredients from a technological point of view and will therefore be leading:

 

  • Developing  creative & market-relevant solutions
  • Troubleshooting scientific and technical issues related to existing and new products    
  • Liaising between technical and regulatory services
  • Staying abreast of the current scientific and technological state of the art to ensure that the company stays at the forefront of the competition.
  • Rolling-out knowledge in the different sales regional organization

 

The main areas of focus will be the development of botanical extracts made from plants and fruit and vegetables for different end-use such as taste, nutrition, antioxidants, etc; however, all-natural solutions may be included in the scope on a case-by-case basis.


As an NPD scientist, you will need to work well with a cross-functional team, providing excellent service in terms of formula development, product presentations, and process support.
The NPD scientist works closely with Account Managers, marketing/strategic teams, and fellow NPD technologists to develop an understanding of the market and customer needs to develop market suitable solutions.

 

The position is based in Avignon.
You will travel to France and other countries, if necessary for training and business support.


Your profile:

  • Required to have a Master’s degree in Ingredient Design, Botanical Extraction 
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • A first technical experience in developing botanical extracts for the Nutraceutical market is ideal.
  • Good to have experience in a BtoB company
  • Must have fluent English 
  • Practical, pragmatic, results-oriented
  • Independent, committed, open, and adaptable, with a developed verbal and written communication skills
