HR Specialist

Purpose

In collaboration with the HR Director / Manager, support the HR team of a site, geographical area, or function and focus on delivering

the company’s HR goals within HR strategy, corporate guidelines and local policies. Operate with guidance and under limited supervision.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

HR Management Support

  • Help implement human resource strategies and programmes.
  • With and under the general direction of HR Management develop and administer the organisation’s compensation and benefit, recruitment, training, organisation development, and employee relations programmes.
  • Provide people management consultation and administration including annual compensation reviews, performance reviews, and benefits enquiries.
  • Provide support across all HR operational processes, ensuring quality, effectiveness and compliance with legislation.
  • Use relevant information and reports to recommend policy and process improvements.
  • Participate in or help implement Corporate and Site plans.

HR Processes

  • Help develop feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes.
  • Help establish clear roles and responsibilities and streamlined internal HR processes.
  • Support effective and use of people management practices and systems and provide value added reporting allowing managers to make more useful, fact-based and timely decisions.

Employee Relations

  • Provide advice to managers and employees on employee relations matters including performance management, career development, disciplinary actions and organisational decisions.
  • Consult with the business on Employee Relation issues and ensure HR business processes are implemented effectively (e.g. performance management, annual compensation reviews, learning and development).
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations and Employee Representative groups e.g. Works Councils, Unions and Health & Safety Committees.

Legal & Compliance

  • Provide interpretation and guidance on human resources policies and employment law.
  • Ensure organisational compliance with employment law and implementation of new legal requirements.
  • Ensure organisational compliance on matters of occupational health; in collaboration with the occupational health department and local management team provide support on employees medical issues/restrictions.
  • Inform and advise managers and staff about relevant legislation, employee relations policies.

 

Academic Background

  • University degree in Human Resources or related field.

 

Professional Experience

  • 2 or more years of experience in HR management, preferably with international organisations.

 

Technical Skills

  • Local language mandatory, English language very beneficial.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Analytical Skills.
  • Knowledge of HR legal matters.
