Food Manufacturing - Process Engineer

About the Role
On this position you will provide technical support and leadership within Operations including formula and process improvements, scale-up of new products and processes, product transfers, among others.
You will report to the Head of Operations

Main Responsibilities:


  • New Product or Process Industrialization

Review formulas and new processes for manufacturing, quality, and safety viability and resolve
issues with support from the creator and other partners.
Lead and monitor scale-up and first time production to ensure product can be produced.
Lean and validate product transfers.
Collaboration required with the production, quality, planning department, and others
Propose and implement process and formula revisions to improve as applicable.


  • Technical Process Improvement and Engineering

Identify process and formula improvements to affect site performance (quality, cost reduction,
yield, and safety).
Lead teams and support project members' delivery to ensure project fulfillment as applicable
Coordinate resources and partners to ensure change management and project acceptance
Provide site process engineering support. Identify, justify, provide scope and process requirements for technical process improvement projects. .
Review P&ID's, PFD's, and operational parameters for accuracy.
Oversee startup of new equipment and processes
Perform detailed capacity analysis and apply DMAIC approach to problem identification and resolution.


  • Technical Support

Identify opportunity for improvements in operations processes and lead solution development
Provide operations solutions for formula and process issues such as poor yield, chronic quality
issues, excessive processing time, insufficient process controls, high product discard levels,
formula or process related safety issues.
Provide solutions for the rework of out of specification product that requires technical intervention.


  • Project leadership and support

Support site improvement projects such as product transfers, quality improvement projects,
yield improvement projects, cost reduction, and capacity improvement projects.
Lead projects in the areas as assigned

You Have:

  • B.S. (or higher) in chemical engineering or related technical field with 8+ years’ experience in
  • process and/or project work.
  • Prefer Manufacturing/Engineering technical background, including product industrialization,
  • process engineering, complex machinery and material flow, installations and evaluation of
  • equipment into a growth environment.
  • Familiar with Lean fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Food and Flavor Safety and Quality requirements
