At Givaudan, we are the world leader in what we do capturing 25% of the flavors and fragrances industry market share, and we are looking for the newest member of our Bethlehem, PA management team. In this dual role, our Plant Engineering & Maintenance Manager will define, develop and direct all internal and external plant engineering and maintenance services for our Bethlehem site.

 

Key drivers of this role will be to plan, organize and implement necessary changes to support manufacturing organizational changes and strategies. To define, develop, justify and implement capital improvements for building utility, manufacturing processes and associated equipment.

  • Achieve operational efficiency: Develop & direct internal maintenance activities including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and spare parts management with the goal of safely achieving required manufacturing equipment utilization, reliability, and efficiencies. Manage (evaluate, develop, and implement) procedures and equipment changes for maintenance effectiveness, predictive maintenance programs, EHS compliance, and building / other code compliance.

 

  • Enable site productivity: Direct all facilities services to provide appropriate support to operations groups. Provide oversight for project engineering related to facility capital projects. This includes evaluating needs, assessing options, defining costs / justifications, preparing credit request / project plans, and implementing projects to continually improve the manufacturing environment (focus on costs, efficiencies, yields, and quality). Manage third party service contracts by developing requirements, qualifying vendors, and providing service monitoring / improvements.

 

  • Utilize the very best of you: Possess experience managing multi-skilled teams (engineering / maintenance), strong communicator, results-oriented and strong service skills in a food and beverage production environment. Experience in managing multi-million dollar manufacturing projects, operating expense and capital budgeting, and work order / preventative maintenance programs.

 Your professional profile includes:

• Bachelor of Science (or MS) degree in Engineering with minimum of 5-10 years experience in Manufacturing and Plant Engineering & Maintenance

• At least five years of leadership, management experience

• Must have lean manufacturing experience, TPM, Six Sigma, continuous improvement processes/methodologies

• Computer skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and MS Project is highly preferred. Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
