As a Continuous Improvement Senior Specialist reporting to our Site Operations Director, you will lead the execution of Continuous Improvement projects within the site or specific function to embed best practices, promote a continuous improvement mindset and refine non-value added activities. This is an on-site role at our Bethlehem site, Pennsylvania.

 

In this exciting role, you will work on:

  • Business Orientation
    • Contribute to the design of Site/Department strategies and deployment plans 
    • Identify and measure improvement opportunities; develop action plans as needed.
  • People Engagement
    • Support in deploying CI Awareness workshops to all teams (e.g. CI basics training)
    • Incentivize everyone to share Good Practices.
  • Capability Building
    • Follow up of CI capability building governance at Team/shop floor level 
    • Develop people by delivering training for basic CI Methodologies
    • Training includes:  CI Basics (5S, 8Wastes, Problem Solving), Yellow, Visual Performance Management, CI Maturity Assessment
  • Problem Solving
    • Follow up of Problem Solving building governance at Team/shop floor level 
    • Coach project teams in applying problem solving techniques (ex: root cause analysis)
  • Performance Management
    • Set up and help implement daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance management reviews at shift, department and site level including the definition of lagging and leading indicators
  • Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA)
    • Support the CI Manager / Lead / Site or Department to prepare the CIMA Assessment and follow up with the teams based on CIMA outcome
  • Process Efficiency
    • Train, coach and inspire teams in applying relevant CI tools and methodologies for improving Processes and Asset Efficiencies
  • Work Standard
    • Support process owners on development of CI related work standards
    • Help teams to apply and comply with work standards (e.g. SOPs, OPLs)
  • Business Impact
    • Lead and support specific business improvement projects
    • Coach project teams on applying Lean and Six Sigma tools during project execution phases.
    • Promote implementation progress of assigned CI projects, monitoring resource plans, project team accountabilities, change requests, deadlines, milestones, change management roadmaps, communications and manage periodic updates 
    • Report the financial and non-financial benefits for assigned improvement projects

 

You?

  • University Degree required, ideally in Engineering fields or related.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent CI training required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Process Engineering or Project work.
  • Track record on leading improvement projects, training and coaching CI principles.
