Procurement Category Manager - Travel and HR


Category Manager Travel and HR Services - Your future position?


We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Manager with Global experience to join our Indirect Material and Services (IM&S) Procurement team! In this role, reporting to the Global Category Manager Travel and HR Services, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies and related tactical plans to source the materials and services categories in the scope and secure supply for those categories. Together with your key stakeholders you will ensure proper planning and execution of the strategies. Furthermore you will closely collaborate with our Givaudan Business Solutions (GBS) teams as well as with our local buyers.


You will be able to perform the role out of Budapest (Hungary) or Naarden (Netherlands) and work in a multi-cultural and global team.

In this exciting role your main activities will be the following


Sourcing Strategy

  • Drive the development and implementation of global category strategies within the framework of the global procurement
  • Analyze market and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio
  • Lead global or regional sourcing strategy development within cross functional teams
  • Drive global or regional sourcing strategy implementation by leading major RFQs and key negotiations

Portfolio Management

  • Negotiate contracts regionally and locally and globally
  • Select, manage and audit suppliers
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and actively involve and engage stakeholders in development of optimization plans
  • Link with local buyers and sourcing support teams to identify alternative suppliers in other geographies, deploy global strategies, contracts and framework agreements, collect supplier performance feedback
  • Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate them to suppliers
  • Own key supplier relationship
  • Ensure vendor performance at target levels


Stakeholder Relationship


  • Communicate to key internal stakeholders any market conditions changes which may affect the Business
  • Actively support the responsible sourcing projects and the sustainability activities
  • Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate/influence business stakeholders to drive cost improvements

Cost Optimization and Business Planning

  • Prepare initiative plans and forecasts in line with business budget cycle
  • Develop cost reduction projects
  • Provide price forecast and market trends for key commodities and services


Your success profile includes 

  • HBO or University degree
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel/Word/ Power Point
  • Fluent in English, any other European language an asset
  • At least 08 years’ experience in Procurement
  • At least 2 years experience in global or regional sourcing of travel or HR services
  • International exposure in previous roles
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Strong collaborator, able to build network rapidly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for success with high energy level
  • Willingness to travel (20%)
