Data Protection Manager

Data Protection Manager

 

Protecting personal data and managing them within a complex framework of changing international rules is a key concern for an international company like Givaudan. Givaudan is looking for a Data Protection Manager based in our corporate offices in Budapest, Hungary. The position will report to our Data Protection Officer, based in Budapest, Hungary.

 

As Data Protection Manager you will work closely with the Data Protection Officer on the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Givaudan’s Global Data Protection Strategy to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as best practices with a specific focus on non-EU laws and regulations.

 

More particularly, you will work closely with the Data Protection Officer on the following:

 

•    Ensure continuous compliance with fast-changing laws and regulations with a specific focus on non-European regions in accordance with Givaudan’s global compliance strategy 
•    Manage the data protection platform and provide formal compliance reporting to the Data Protection Officer 
•    Monitor compliance of Givaudan’s activities with the Global DP Programme its underly-ing policies and procedures as well as with applicable laws and regulations and work closely with the Data Protection Officer to adapt the strategy
•    Maintain internal registers of processing activities
•    Undertake a full assessment of projects involving the processing of personal data, including the review of contractual documentation and where applicable the conduct of PIA’s, DPIA’s and vendor assessments
•    Collaborate on developing training material with the Data Protection Officer and relevant stakeholders in order to maintain a high- level awareness of applicable privacy and data protection laws and policies throughout the non-European regions
•    Support and manage privacy tasks of local Data Protection Coordinators
•    Assist subject access requests and queries from supervisory authorities

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with a large number of different internal and external stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Information Technology/Security, Human Resources, Communications, local teams, as well as data protection authorities and our clients.

 

Your professional profile includes:

 

•    University degree (degree in law, IT or compliance is an advantage)
•    2-5 years of work experience 
•    Experience in data protection or related activities within an international environment 
•    In-depth knowledge of the EU General Data Protection Regulation
•    Fluency in English (Spanish or any spoken non-European language is an advantage)
•    Strong skills in planning, organization, verbal and written communication
•    Ability to successfully deal with ambiguity while focusing on results and getting things done to high standards of detail and quality
•    High attention to detail
•    Hands-on, achiever and fast learner
