Legal Counsel - Privacy - Your future position?

Protecting personal data and managing them within a complex framework of changing international rules is a key concern for an international company like Givaudan. Givaudan is looking for a Legal Counsel, Privacy based in our corporate office in Budapest. The position will report to the Group Data Protection Officer.

As a Legal Counsel, Privacy you will work in a small team of Privacy professionals on the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Givaudan's Global Data Protection Strategy to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as best practices with a specific focus on group-wide privacy compliance of our subsidiaries.

More particularly, you will work on the following:

• Ensure continuous compliance with fast-changing laws and regulations in accordance with Givaudan's global compliance strategy

• Manage the data protection platform and provide formal compliance reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer

• Monitor compliance of Givaudan's activities with the Global Privacy Programme its underlying policies and procedures as well as with applicable laws and regulations

• Maintain internal registers of processing activities in the region

• Undertake full assessment of global and regional projects involving the processing of personal data, including the review of contractual documentation and where applicable the conduct of various privacy assessments

• Collaborate on developing training material with relevant stakeholders in order to maintain a high- level awareness of applicable privacy and data protection laws and policies

• Support and manage privacy tasks of local Data Protection Coordinators and external partners

• Assist subject access requests and queries from individuals and supervisory authorities

• Conduct and manage Global Privacy assessments under the European GDPR regulation.

In this role you will have the opportunity to interact with a large number of different internal and external stakeholders, including Legal, Information Technology, Human Resources, Communications, local teams, as well as data protection authorities, external law firms and our clients.

Your professional profile includes:

• At least a Master of law university degree

• CIPP certifications is a plus

• 5+ years of experience

• Experience in driving a data protection programme within an international environment

• In-depth knowledge of the GDPR and demonstrated knowledge in privacy trends

• Fluency in English

• In-depth knowledge of the OneTrust privacy software is a plus

• Strong skills in planning, organisation, verbal and written communication

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders at different levels of the organisation

• Excellent administrative skills
