VAT Senior Accountant

About the role:

 

As a member of the GBS Finance and Controlling stream in Budapest, you will support the Group Tax function (VAT), local finance and external partners to ensure that the VAT process is running smoothly and accurately. You will be in contact with the Corporate teams (Group Tax), Business units, and different external partners. You will based in Budapest and directly report to the Transfer Pricing & Trade Affairs Manager.

 

You will:

 

VAT Compliance

  • You will assist with the preparation and validation of local and foreign compliance matters such as VAT returns, EC Sales List & Intrastat reporting and real time data integrity checks for the EMEA region.
  • You will provide data for our external partners regularly (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • You will assist in VAT audits for EMEA affiliates and perform SAP testing for Indirect Tax projects and integration projects of newly acquired companies.

 

VAT Accounting, reconciliation

  • You will perform detailed controls and VAT account reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy of processes and reporting. You will complete input VAT check monthly and initiate necessary corrections before the Tax Return is due.
  • You will rebuild and operate smooth process for correction to comply with VAT rules and act as first point of contact in such matters for internal stakeholders.

 

Collaboration

  • You will be responsible to facilitate interactions with internal/external customers and to collaborate closely with Corporate Tax. You will act as backup for colleagues in the field of VAT on request.

 

Continuous improvement

  • Your objective will contain to identify possible issues, to communicate them to the relevant audience as well as to propose solutions for them.
  • You will be asked to propose process simplifications and drive the accepted changes

 

You have:

 

  • Finance/Accounting/Economics degree
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Indirect Tax (preferably gained in SSC, Multinational or Big4 advisory)
  • SAP knowledge
  • Good command of MS office
