Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Procurement IM&S, this role is based in New Jersey. The mission is

  • Lead and implement the packaging sourcing and contracting process for multiple sites to improve cost following Category Strategies and procurement guidelines.
  • Be a primary contact to site(s) for the strategic sourcing of packaging.
  • Collaborate with Category Management, Givaudan Business Solutions (GBS) and local Partners
  • Support transition to sustainable packaging aiming to fulfill Givaudan goals to reduce environmental footprint.

Core Responsibilities

Sourcing and Market Research

  • Support the sourcing process for IM&S packaging categories taking into account category strategies and supply base.
  • Analyze trends and market movements for use in making sound procurement decision.
  • Advise and assist site partners in other departments in the evaluation and pricing of alternate materials. Advise on trade practices, pricing, market conditions, delivery terms, and utilization of technical services of vendors.
  • Identify and guide local/site cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities following IM&S and business targets and our needs.
  • Introduce and lead ideas to change ways of working /specifications into the site with an outside-in mindset.
  • Support the category management team in the roll out of strategies within the site. This includes sourcing (including RFx's and e-auctions), pricing, rejections, supplier inventory, supply chain, obsolescence and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Make category specific recommendations to Category Management for relevant site(s).

Vendor Selection

  • Select vendors according to corporate assessment criteria (quality, financials, sustainability/responsible sourcing, risk) and consolidate preferred supplier base.
  • Initiate search for new materials or products
  • Support the responsible sourcing and sustainability projects implementation
  • Investigate and approve requests for vendor creation
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of bid results as per guideline

Negotiations and Contract Management

  • Solicit and analyze quotes, negotiate prices and delivery terms and investigate invoice discrepancies
  • Negotiate annual and long-term contracts and provide information to the relevant users (e.g. category cards, GBS teams)
  • Implement regional and local agreements and support the financial targets as outlined by IM&S Procurement and the business.
  • Conduct local negotiations with suppliers and ensure contract cover within the portfolio and for spend as defined by the Head of Procurement IM&S MX/US and the Regional Category Manager for Packaging and according the Global Delegation of Authorities/Signatories policy.
  • Review purchase requisitions/orders and other vendor related administrative workflows
  • Measure performance of vendors for quality of work, cost, timelines and other related parameters
  • Ensure appropriate risk evaluation within the IM&S risk framework and implement mitigation actions while meeting our needs
  • Support the pack creation process and provide all relevant documentation required to evaluate that packaging is fit-for-purpose and fulfill all compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate sourcing and contracting issue escalation and resolution

Report, Process Delivery

  • Support partners on sourcing and contracting matters on a daily basis
  • Be the first point of escalation for the responsible areas
  • Facilitate information in SAP
  • Maintain existing catalogs and guide the implementation of new catalogs
  • Ensure up-to-date Savings Tracking Tool (PVTT)

You?

  • Bachelor's degree, engineering, supply chain or business administration
  • 5 years of experience in a Procurement within an international environment, experience in packaging, capex, engineering category.
  • Fluent English.
  • Understanding of procurement processes.
  • Financial skills

  • Predict/anticipate market trends
  • Develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans in clear way
