Logistic Team Lead

Reporting to the Operations Director, this Mt. Olive, New Jersey-based position, you will support and improve all domestic outbound freight and transportation-related processes and personnel to reduce costs while improving efficiency and service levels.  


Lead transport personnel in the following functions: processing SAP shipping transactions, shipping document preparation, coordinating timely shipment of orders and effective utilization of carriers.  Maintains and improves overall performance through strong communications, use of formal and informal procedures, team building, evaluations, training and hiring practices.  Trains employees on new systems and tools as needed.

Supports third party freight companies and relationships: Provide information for performance measurement reporting process on an on-going basis to improve overall performance.

Continuos improvement: Develops, evaluates and implements opportunities for continuous improvement related to all transport related processes. Participates in initiatives related to freight processes and arrangements, in collaboration with internal and external customers, suppliers and freight-related vendors.  Propose and establish changes and improvements to these in a way that reduces overall costs, reduces cycle time and improves service levels. 

Procedures: Formulate, update and monitor use of valid written ISO procedures for Operations for continual im-provement.  Develops and manages annual budget.

Your professional profile includes:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or related field.
•    5 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain or related field.  
•    Must demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and organization skills.  
•    Supervisory experience being able to effectively manage processes and lead a cross-functional team.  
•    Documentation and computer skills.
