Site Controller

Givaudan has an immediate need for a Site Controller to join our Mount Olive manufacturing and other production sites in the US. As a Site Controller with our North America Finance organization you will have immediate direct impact on the controlling activities at the local level.  As a financial business support partner to the Site Operations Director, you will motivate the Operational team to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.  As a member of the site operations management team, you will fully engage the Operational team to ensure operational excellence is fully integrated into the operations to support and drive process improvement initiatives.


In this exciting role you will: oversee the analysis of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and support the management of cost accounting activities.  Work with cost accountants to ensure process order variances are properly analyzed, issues are resolved timely, and costs are properly distributed. Oversee and evaluate internal controls for the site and devise procedures to ensure proper compliance.  Act as site representative on all financial transactions.


  • Consult with your business partners: Challenge site management to adhere to budget and deliver savings with upside potential. Create awareness and transparency on any risks and opportunities.  Drive plans to deliver results. Provides recommendations on inventory management. Coordinates the development and analysis of business plans, budgets, and forecasts.  Participates in forecasting and mid to long term planning of the factory. Supports management in the evaluation of product costs and margins. 
  • Support site strategy development: Provide analyses and interpretation of financial information to various functional management stakeholders while also providing monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI); work with management on manufacturing related financial and non-financial goals. 
  • Drive performance of the site: Analyze, participate, and coordinate activities associated with operations projects. Active member on site projects that drive process /cost improvements (supply chain, continuous improvement, cost reductions, etc.) and that address production and supply chain requirements (meetings include inventory reviews, production, site management, continuous improvement, etc.).
  • Support the Capital Investment planning process: Work closely with site engineers, local management, and regional controllers from stage of evaluating capital proposals up until value realization.  Provides investment analysis (i.e., net present value, internal rate of return, lease/buy) and ensures projects are supported by financial and business justification.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics. MBA or CPA/CMA desired.
  • 4+ years of experience with a strong background of performing controlling and costing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Very strong PC skills (advanced excel) required and solid SAP experience desirable. 
  • Project management and process leadership skills required.
