Utility Worker - 3rd Shift
GENERAL DUTIES
Works under general supervision of supervisor or Group Leader and in accord with established policies & procedures. Performs duties necessary to select, wash, dry, inspect and route a variety of containers used in the plant as well as general material transfer and housekeeping duties.
SPECIFIC DUTIES

Cleans a variety of containers (bottles, metal cans, pots, trays, tanks, etc.), pumps, filters and so forth using required cleaning solutions and procedures.

Inspects containers for cleanliness, damage and odor before and after washing. Performs same duties for new containers.

Transports pots, drums, bottles and other containers to and from work area. Obtains required containers and other supplies from storeroom and delivers where needed.

Transfers bulked or mixed materials via gravity or pump to containers of specified size, weighting accurately to stay within specified tolerances.

Must become familiar with the names, appearance, odor and properties of a variety of fragrance materials in order to bulk, mix and label with a minimum of instruction.

Cleans all equipment and work station in preparation of next job and retrieve and begin next sequenced Shop order.

Will perform daily equipment inspections on forklifts, electric jacks and drum runners; will perform routine maintenance on scales and bar code scanner equipment.

Will conduct inventory accuracy checks and cycle counts; will rotate stock to ensure FIFO policy is maintained.

Receives training, at a minimum annually, in the proper handling of hazardous wastes, hazardous materials and spill control in compliance with applicable regulations. Performs all job activities dealing with hazardous wastes in accordance with the training received.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Must be able to read and write English, have a working knowledge of basic arithmetic. Must be familiar with American and metric weighing systems. Must have knowledge of automated or computer based material tracking systems.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Must be able to operate a variety of specialized equipment, including forklifts, electric jacks, and drum runners and VNAs . Must be able to operate measuring devices, such as scales, scanner guns, etc. and be able to perform routine maintenance on same. Must be experienced in entering/retrieving data from computer based systems including but not limited to SAP.
