As a Credit Management & Collection Intern, you will manage our entire credit granting process. This process includes the application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers. The goal of this process is to improve the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
This is a paid internship. You will work 4 days at home and 1 day at the office located in Martinez.
Main Responsibilities:
- Contact customers by phone or email to improve collection activity and resolve straightforward collection issues.
- Follow up on past-due accounts and coordinate with outside agencies or legal counsel.
- Help manage accounts under bankruptcy or other legal proceedings.
- Manage and mitigate credit risk through analysis of customer financial information and other reporting tools.
- Establish and review credit limits for our accounts.
- Collaborate with corporate and regional finance teams to analyze bad debt reserves and recommend monthly accruals.
- Participate in quotation and proposal stages to ensure credit terms align with corporate credit policy.
Required Qualifications
- Student in Economic Sciences, Accounting, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Desired specific knowledge: Intermediate level of English. Experienced in tools such as Excel.
- Professional experience: 0-6 months of administrative experience is desirable
