Purpose

Coordinate import and export shipments for a the 6th of October City site and monitor related administrative processes from order execution to delivery of goods.

 

Core Responsibilities

Export administration

  • Prepare all documents required for shipment upon customer order confirmation and internal release approval.

  • Validate pricing information and coordinate release of invoices.

  • Prepare application for and administer export licenses, agreements and amendments required by regulations and manage related for renewals or re-applications.

  • Monitor data entry of shipment information into SAP shipping module and activate billing upon confirmation of delivery.

  • Provides day to day shipment tracking, customer service and problem resolution of e.g. exception orders.

  • Work in conjunction with customs broker(s) to ensure all required customs clearance procedures and

  • documentation are complied with.

  • Conduct load tenders to obtain quotes for various modes of transportation and select most competitive provider.

  • Monitor compliance of all documentation with export regulations as well as inspections conducted by certification

  • firms.

Import administration

  • Confirm order placement to suppliers.

  • Track shipment(s) on a daily basis and address delivery issues with relevant parties (suppliers, customs,transporters).

  • Work in conjunction with customs broker(s) to ensure all required customs clearance procedures and

  • documentation are complied with.

  • Check conformity of import documents for correct values, commodity classifications, tariff codes and

  • authorizations, and record delivery in SAP.

  • Participate in the creation of reports or records concerning potential or verified matters of non- compliance.

  • Assist with internal and/or external audits and assessments.

Miscellaneous

  • Compose and type routine correspondence and memoranda.

  • Identify payment discrepancies and prevents invoicing errors.

  • Maintain records of import and export shipping documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Keep current with local import/export regulations.

  • Advise Shipping staff regarding the interpretation of import/export laws and regulations, applicable policies and procedures and product classification.

Academic Background

  • Vocational diploma in logistics

Professional Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in shipping/logistics in a manufacturing environment

  • Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of warehouse process flow

  • Proficiency shipping and receiving regulations and protocol

  • Good knowledge of transportation supplier landscape

  • Good knowledge of material/product safety/security norms and regulations

  • Good knowledge of production process flow and scheduling

  • Operation of computers - desktop, and hand held for receiving, and real time inventory updates and customer order shipments

  • Expertise in regulations applicable to import/export
