A Site Engineering Manager with a global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty, and an integral part of our Taste & Wellbeing Egypt Plant Operations team, and based in 6th October City - Your future position?
Our Egypt plant operations site in 6th October City was set up in 1996 and is one of our flagship manufacturing sites in the region, focussing on Snacks, Savoury, Beverages, and other unique ingredients for the Taste & Wellbeing sector in Egypt and the wider region.
We are now hiring a 'Site Engineering Manager' for the site. Based in our 6th October City site and reporting to the Taste & Wellbeing Plant Head of Operations for Egypt, you will lead a multi-functional team of about 15 people by 2 direct reports - Project Manager and Maintenance Manager. As an important member of our Taste & Wellbeing Egypt Plant Operations team, you will also contribute to our local entity's success and aspirations.
You will implement and sustain world-class operations standards for safety, health & environmental protection, manufacturing and supply chain, product quality, food safety and quality management systems, utilities and resource utilisation. You will participate in short and long-term site planning to achieve the site's purpose and goals.
You will lead the Engineering and Maintenance functions on the site with complex industrial processes to achieve maximum plant reliability to meet and support the operational activity needs of our Clients. Through coaching and motivating the team, you will guide the implementation of global engineering best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for -
Strategy design and execution:
• Provide input to the local operations business plan and related goals, e.g., engineering projects, production capacity, critical maintenance activities, changes in equipment, spare parts inventory, etc.
• Define annual targets and goals for site engineering based on functional strategy and lead and monitor their achievement.
Site Engineering function management:
• Lead maintenance and engineering teams and contractors working on different assignments within the engineering and maintenance field.
• Work with global and regional engineering functions to ensure proper analysis, planning and implementation of global strategies, plans, or best practices.
• Establish site master plans to capture all Capex, engineering, and maintenance plans and lead their execution in addressing internal customer requirements in the short, mid, and long term.
• Provide input to global or regional capex initiatives to anticipate impact on local activities and resources.
• Identify, propose, and implement local capex projects once they are approved.
• Manage all routine engineering and maintenance activities, track progress against plans and implement corrective actions in case of deviation.
• Apply best practices and continuous improvement programs to improve processes and use of resources.
• Deliver best-in-class engineering and maintenance service to clients through maintenance work on local projects and coordinate capital investments on site.
• Maintain compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards and harmonise standards within the departments.
• Implement Group Engineering initiatives, guidelines, and directives, and organise regular training to ensure adherence to these guidelines and other guidelines/directives/standards (e.g., EHS).
• Maintain contacts with local authorities.
• Propose budgets and levels of service for engineering and maintenance activities and implement them within approved limits.
People management and development:
• Create a positive working environment through sound leadership.
• Manage and enrich the talent pool, including performance management, individual development, mentoring succession planning, career mapping, and gap analysis.
You?
Your professional profile includes:
• University degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant and diversified work experience in manufacturing or plant operations, including exposure to factory engineering and maintenance strategy and operational maintenance of production equipment.
• Ideally, have exposure to manufacturing or production or industrial setups in the FMCG, Food, Beverage, Flavour, Ingredients, Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, or Chemical sectors.
• 2+ years of successful people management experience, preferably in a multinational work environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in complex industrialisation and engineering projects, including building, process installation and utilities, from the design stage to handover.
• Knowledge of TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project-controlling tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) is good to have.
• Have a good appreciation and commitment to high quality and safety standards.
