Process Technology Specialist - Your future role?

As a Process Technology Specialist, you will support Operations by generating essential oil shop orders that are

compliant with the required specifications, performing formulation adjustments as a result of raw material variation

or shortages and liaising with customer service team to advise possible delays to existing orders; assist

QC with rectifications and rework instructions and advise suitability of the incoming raw materials for new shop

orders.

These activities are based in our plant Essential Oils in Caronno Pertusella.

 

Reporting to the Process Engineering & CI Manager, you will:

  • Generate essential oil shop orders and reserve the raw material required for the job

  • Adjust formulations to adhere to customer specifications

  • Test laboratory scale samples using multiple analytical instruments and methods to ensure compliance to the required specification

  • Take care of manufacturing problems related to non-conformances, or manufacturing inefficiencies

  • Assist QC by issuing rectifications and rework instructions on batches that are out of specification

  • Prepare pre-shipment or type sample for customer approval

  • Request fresh samples from warehouse for laboratory trials

  • Assist on sensory evaluation of incoming ingredients, as requested by the QC Manager

  • Monitor the stock levels of intermediate and by-products utilized in essential oil blends and action them keeping the relevant departments informed

 

Your professional profile includes:

  • University degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food science or another related field

  • Professional Experience: 2 to 5 years’ experience in chemistry or laboratory techniques

  • Strong knowledge of essential oil extraction methods, properties, and applications.
  • Laboratory or QC techniques required

  • Computer knowledge with such systems as SAP, Databases, ISO and Microsoft Office products is preferred

  • Operational experience on laboratory system, analytical equipment and instruments such as GC, GC-MS, weighing balance, Densitometer, Refractometer, Moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrator, etc.

  • Knowledge on chemical substances, hazardous material and related local regulations

  • Basics of Sensory Evaluation

  • Basic understanding of Food Safety and Quality Systems (such as HACCP) that are relevant to the assigned area of activity

  • Ability in working with diverse cultures

  • Team working oriented

  • Passion and flexibility in working

  • Proficiency in both English and Italian Languages
