Concept Development Chef

Participate in establishing culinary concepts and products preparation to ensure effective internal and external evaluations, in line with C&A business objectives and EH&S policies. Reporting to

 

In this position you will:

  • Assist in the preparation and assembly of concepts and flavoured food products for internal and customer evaluations
  • Record lab data using a lab notebook and Givaudan software
  • Execute formulation instructions with speed and accuracy while preparing culinary products Develop and standardise culinary gold standards during flavour development for customer briefs Work with portfolio group to ensure profiles in the collection provide authentic flavour profiles for current market needs
  • Execute daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during the flavour selection, evaluation and culinary development
  • Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for culinary needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment is maintained in accordance with EH&S policies

Your professional profile includes:

  • Culinary Degree from an accredited University or an equivalent apprenticeship
  • Minimum 2 -5 years of work experience in the flavour, retail, or food service industries
  • Complete understanding of research documentation protocol.
  • Complete knowledge of Givaudan safety, hygiene, and environmental guidelines/requirements
  • Theoretical knowledge of ingredients; starches, hydrocolloids, taste components, yeast specialties, etc.
  • Understanding of the science behind cooking
  • Tasting skills and ability to effectively describe the flavour profile of the product and provide direction for recipe modifications
  • Project management skills and the ability to successfully lead selected culinary projects
  • Ability to lead projects for customers including customer visits
  • Ability to prepare and present basic regional culinary trend presentations
  • Ability to translate culinary trends into innovative products for selected customers
