Application Manager

Application Manager – Your future opportunity?


As an Application Manager, you will manage the activities of the flavour application team, covering all segments, beverage, dairy, sweet goods and savoury for the regions Germany, Switzerland & Israel. You will work closely with sales, marketing and flavour creation teams to manage the implementation of the relevant regions growth strategy and drive organizational effectiveness to deliver our business objectives. You will report to the Technical Manager, and will be located in Dortmund, Germany.
You will:


  • Manage the activities and performance of the flavors application team in Germany, Switzerland & Israel
  • You will be the main point of contact for our selected customers and develop relationships that allow better execution of projects to drive our growth aspirations
  • Be a technical expert for multiple applications both internally and with customers
  • Provide direction and input in key business meetings such as segment meetings
  • Manage the lab/pilot plant equipment needs of your team to support/improve our ability to perform technical pro-jects
  • Take responsibility to build a diverse and inclusive environment that leverages differences in styles, thinking and approaches
  • Act as the main point of contact for management of development briefs your scope of responsibility
  • Support and develop people to functional competencies within the individual segments and identify all resource, capability needs within the department
  • Manage all levels of the application team and routinely provide guidance for their knowledge and technical skill development


You have:


  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry
  • 8+ years of professional experience food applications lab, flavours lab, production, or related area
  • 2+ years of experience in team/people management
  • Fluent English and conversational level German knowledge
  • Experience managing departmental workload through and good Project management skills
  • Ability to lead projects for customers including customer visits
  • Expert technical problem solving skills
  • Ability to translate market trends into innovative products for key customers
  • Ability to supervise a team of technologists and drive engagement
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-15% to remote team and customers
