An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Fragrance & Beauty Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety (RAPS) team in SAMEA based in the Dubai office as a Fragrance Regulatory Affairs Manager.

 

The RAPS team ensures that suitable policies and tools are in place around the globe in Givaudan to ensure that consumers can enjoy and experience products of the utmost quality that comply with both regulations and their expectations.

 

You will focus on supporting our customers and teams based in the SAMEA region. This exciting and engaging role offers a broad range of responsibilities, high visibility and the opportunity to contribute and grow with our organisation. Through your strategic ability and sound business understanding, you will support the sub-regions for profitable growth and help Givaudan continue to fulfil our purpose and commercial objectives for the region. Based in our Dubai Media City regional headquarters office, the role will report to the Fragrance & Beauty Regional RAPS Director for the SAMEA region.

In this exciting role, you will:

 

Lead local regulatory personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements according to relevant laws and corporate guidelines.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

Regulatory Policy

  • Work with Regulatory Staff to provide external and internal customers and regional regulatory bodies with consistent and compliant product safety and legislative expertise.
  • Respond to regulatory requests from internal and external customers.
  • Acquire information necessary to determine product compliance accurately.
  • Identify early regulatory and legislative issues that are relevant to business and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Advise the business on risks due to safety or regulatory developments.

 

Processes & Systems

  • Develop and execute systems infrastructure to support critical regulatory compliance and safety initiatives through coordination with the global RAPS team.
  • Ensure integrity of regulatory database and protection of regional intellectual property.
  • Provide support to customers (internal & external) through system interventions & documentations.

 

External Relations

  • Represent Givaudan at trade associations, providing our position on issues.

People Management

  • Pro-actively trains junior team members and new hires

Your professional profile includes:

 

Academic Background

  • University / Bachelor's Degree in scientific field

 

Professional Experience

  • 7 - 10 years of relevant and progressive work experience in a Regulatory role(s) in international and multi-cultural work environments, and preferably with companies in the Fragrances, Flavours, FMCG, or Chemical ingredient sectors.

 

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language. Additional proficiency and knowledge of other languages like Arabic or French is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of important product category activities, regulatory trends, and general market dynamics.
  • Good knowledge and passion for the world of fragrances and consumer products
  • Knowledge of regulatory systems and databases in the region.
  • Thorough knowledge of formulae creation procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of industry and customer regulatory requirements, trends and pending regulatory legislation in the region.
  • Knowledgeable of global regulatory issues
  • People Management capabilities.
  • A flexible team player with a sense of facilitation.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
