A Creative Fragrances Evaluator for our Middle East and North Africa Consumer Products Evaluation team at Givaudan and fully focussing on the Fabri Care category, and based in our Dubai office - Your future position?

Givaudan Consumer Products (CPs) are, more often than not, responsible for carrying you through the olfactive journey of your day.

 

Givaudan’s CP teams are present in every region of the world. Years of experience have resulted in an innate knowledge of consumer preferences depending on the segment and geographical location. Our CP teams work together to create the success that Givaudan thrives on and brings together a variety of skills - creation and evaluation, consumer market research, marketing, sampling, sales, customer relations, and QC, and we have a selection of key competencies present in each region. Our Creative Fragrance Evaluator’s are olfactive development specialists whose primary goal is to guide perfumers in the fragrance development process. To do so, Evaluators analyse current olfactive trends, forecast future trends, and assess consumer preferences.

 

Due to an internal move, we are currently looking to recruit a ‘Creative Fragrances Evaluator’ for our Fragrances Consumer Products Evaluation team for the Middle East and North Africa region, and to focus on our Fabric Care category; we might be flexible to consider you for a 'Senior Creative Fragrances Evaluator' role as well for this requirement, depending on your experience and skill-sets. You'll be based in our Dubai office and will operate across the Middle East and North Africa markets. The position will report into the Senior Creative Fragrances Team Manager based in Dubai.

You'll help develop, create and validate fragrances, with a clear understanding of the customer needs, preferences and requirements, to drive business value and ensure successful completion of external projects, according to Fragrance Evaluation goals. You will guide the fragrance development process alongside Account Manag-ers, Perfumers, Marketing, Research, and Laboratory experts.

In this exciting role, you will manage:

 

• Brief’s relating to a category/country/region or customer under Creative Fragrance Manager/Creative Fragrance Team Director’s supervision.
• Contribute to winning briefs by selecting suitable fragrances to meet customer needs.
• Manage the collection and ensure that it aligns with the business needs.
• Working with sales colleagues throughout the project process to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied.
• Collaborate with relevant marketing colleagues for trends information and internal and Client presentations.
• Able to collaborate directly with perfumers to develop fragrance themes.
• Participate in proactive development projects.
• Write fragrance descriptions linked to marketing trends.

Your professional profile includes:

 

Primary qualifications:

• University Degree or equivalent - Bachelor's or Master's.
• Minimum of 4 years functional/technical experience in the industry after your trainee experience. Prior experience in the Middle East/Africa region will be advantageous.

 

Demonstrated:

• Proficiency in using common PC applications, good MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel skills.
• Competent olfactory ability and knowledge.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Effectively interaction with teams.
• Need to be a team player and comfortable with cultural diversity.

 

Languages:

• Oral and written proficiency in the English language.
• Proficiency in any additional languages like Arabic and French will be advantageous.


Technical skills:

 

Evaluation/Application skills-
• Demonstrates knowledge of evaluation/application and research methodologies, principles, protocols, and documentation.

 

Industry/Market knowledge -
• Demonstrates knowledge and passion for the fragrance world.
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of the industry and sales landscape for the country, the segment, category, or specific geographic area, including competitors and regulatory guidelines.
• Essential to have pre-existing knowledge and experience in the Fabric Care category. Cross category ex-perience in any additional Consumer Products categories will be advantageous.
• Demonstrates knowledge of fragrance products, general market dynamics, and trends.
• Local market knowledge.

 

Customer Knowledge/Relationship –
• Building knowledge of customers’ products and processes.

 

Consumer understanding -
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of industry testing protocol and procedures.
• Demonstrates olfactory consumer understanding in a given fragrance category.

 

Project Management -
• Demonstrates a good understanding of the brief process and functional interfaces.
• Effectively leads all required functional steps in the brief handling processes.
• Collaborate with Client's as needed with a focus on customer intimacy and mutual respect.
