SAMEA Regional Product Manager - Snacks & Savoury

 

A Regional Product Manager with the global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty, and an essential member of our Taste & Wellbeing Regional Innovation team focussing on the exciting Snacks & Savoury categories for the dynamic SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East, and Africa) region, while being based in our Dubai office - Your future position?

 

To support our exciting new ways of working for our SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East, and Africa) region, we are now hiring for a ‘Regional Product Manager for Snacks & Savoury’ role for our Regional Innovation organisation for the Taste & Wellbeing (T&W) business. 

 

You will be fundamental in driving the development and commercialisation of new technologies and technical initiatives in line with the segment strategy. In addition, you will be the Snacks & Savoury product portfolio expert for the region, ensuring competitiveness and relevance for our customers. The role offers excellent opportunities to interact and collaborate with a wide range of partners in our Commercial organisation, Science and Technology (S&T), Taste & Wellbeing Creation and Application, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing. 

 

This is an individual contributor role based in our Dubai office in the United Arab Emirates and directly reporting to the Taste & Wellbeing (T&W) Head of Regional Innovation for the SAMEA region. You will be a key member of our T&W Regional Innovation team.

In this exciting role, you will:

 

Manage the Snacks & Savoury product and technology portfolio -


• Manage the regional product portfolio to ensure it is relevant, competitive, profitable and aligned with the business strategy.
• Become the regional subject matter expert for assigned products and technologies.
• Actively manage the existing product portfolio, identify non-performing products and recommend deletion where appropriate.
• Help deliver the sales and gross margin targets, working closely with the pricing and relevant teams to define price levels.

 

Define the innovation needs and manage the innovation pipeline - 

 

• Manage the complete innovation pipeline for the Snacks & Savoury segment, leading complex innovation projects with several stakeholders in the SAMEA region.
• Identify business development opportunities and define innovation needs and gaps for the region.
• Gather and provide business justification and local market requirements (e.g., sales/profit projections, regulatory requirements, product performance expectations) for the identified innovation projects in collaboration with the Science & Technology (S&T), Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application team, and the Marketing Managers.
• Interacts with S&T, Operations, and Supply Chain to identify and resolve product cost and supply issues.
• Provide inputs into the global product strategy led by the Global Product Managers.

 

Drive the commercialisation of innovation - 

 

• Build commercialisation plans and develop customer-relevant value propositions for the product portfolio.
• Engage with local stakeholders (Marketing, Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application team, and Sales) to drive product launches in the region and identify customer opportunities (e.g., jointly develop the promotional plan, arrange salesforce training with local marketing, coordinate the development of samples and demos)
• Support the technical team to prepare for the launch of new products and technologies via the development of proper training materials and direct support.
• Ensure that new ingredients and regional versions of flavours are provided to all relevant markets with all the required information related to the new products (regulatory requirement, pricing, etc.).
• Supports the presentation of new products and technologies to key customer targets.

Your professional profile includes: 

 

• A University degree in a relevant discipline. 
• 7+ years of relevant experience managing product platforms for the Snacks and/or Savoury category(ies) for the food or flavour industry.
• A technical background with a combination of B2B Commercial/Marketing experience gained in an international environment will be advantageous.
• A solid understanding and passion for innovation management and the commercialisation of new products.
• Comfortable in working and collaborating with diverse teams and cultures. 
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages like Arabic and French will be advantageous. 
• Willing to travel within the SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East, and Africa) region ~ 25% of the time.
