A Senior Creative Fragrances Manager/Creative Fragrances Manager for our MENA Consumer Products Fabric and Home & Air Care Team at Givaudan and to be based in our Dubai office  - Your future position?

Our CP teams work together to create the success that Givaudan thrives on and brings together a variety of skill sets - creation and evaluation, consumer market research, marketing, sampling, sales, customer relations, and QC, and we have a selection of key competencies present in each region.


We are currently expanding our Consumer Products Team for the Middle East and North Afirca (MENA) region and recruiting for a ‘Senior Creative Fragrances Manager/Creative Fragrances Manager’ (Sr. CFM/CFM), to be based in our Dubai office,  to focus on our Fabric and Home & Air Care segment - Detergent, Softener, and Home/Air care products. (The actual title of the role will depend on your experience and skill sets). Our CFM’s are olfactive development specialists whose primary goal is to guide perfumers in the fragrance development process. To do so, CFM’s have a strategic view and analyse current olfactive trends, forecast future trends, and assess consumer preferences.

As a ‘Senior Creative Fragrances Manager/Creative Fragrances Manager ’ for our Fragrances Consumer Products Team, you will focus on our Fabric and Home & Air Care care segment for the MENA region. You will lead a team of Evaluators and work with them to develop, create, and validate fragrances, with a clear understanding of the customer needs, preferences, and requirements, in order to drive business value and ensure successful completion of external projects, according to Fragrance Evaluation objectives. The role will report into the Creative Fragrance Team Director for the MENA region.


You will guide the fragrance development process alongside Account Managers, Perfumers, Marketing, Research, and Laboratory experts.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:


People Management:

• Lead a team of Evaluators and manage the performance and development of the team
• Build an inclusive and creative environment, in which all the team members are motivated and can contribute to the best of their ability

• Train and mentor team members as necessary


Fragrance Development:

• Develop the olfactory strategy for customers, markets, categories, and accordingly guide the Perfumery teams.
• Manage and execute multiple complex briefs from customers and develop or select fragrances according to the given brief guidelines
• Liaise with other regional creative centers, as necessary, to complete project assignments
• Define fragrances to be tested and coordinate with Consumer Market Insights (CMI) team
• Translate CMI results into olfactory guidelines for Perfumers
• Contribute to the olfactory analysis of new products to identify interesting notes for creative development
• Develop new fragrances with Perfumers on a pro-active basis
• Work with the labs for testing product stability
• Keep abreast of Givaudan and industry best practices and identify improvement opportunities for implementation


Positioning and Marketing:

• Anticipate market tastes; work closely with marketing colleagues on proactive concept generation
• Write olfactory summaries of a region/market and customers for knowledge-building and sharing
• Conduct customer presentations/interactions
• Write fragrance descriptions linked to marketing trends


Project Management:

• Efficiently manage the project pipeline of customer briefs and other internal or proactive initiatives
• Ensure efficient execution of projects with a focus on improving the win rate, customer intimacy, and speed of response
Build and maintain relationships with customers:

• Contribute to winning briefs by selecting suitable fragrances to meet customer needs
• Actively participate in meeting customers and the preparation for customer visits
• Build and maintain relationships with selected customers together with the Sales/Key Accounts team
• Proactively provide the Sales/Key Accounts team with inputs for their account development plans.

Your professional profile includes:

• A Bachelor or University Degree. Master’s or advanced degree in a relevant field will be advantageous.
• A deep knowledge and passion for the world of fragrances
• At least 7-10 years relevant experience in Fragrances Evaluation for the Fabric and/or  Home & Air Care segments and a strong track record of having developed winning fragrances for key international or regional customers. Current/prior experience in the Middle East and/or Africa region will be preferable but not mandatory.
• Minimum 2-3 years people management experience in leading and winning effective teams
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language. Additional knowledge of Arabic and/or French languages will be advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Evaluation/Application skills: Knowledge of Fabric & Home Care categories, product design principles, advanced product and technical knowledge (innovations, manufacturing, stability, etc.), ability to dissect a fragrance and offer intuitive and creative ideas within the project's scope. Knowledge of any additional Consumer Products categories will be advantageous.
• Customer knowledge/relationship: Able to effectively interact with customers on briefs, technical interactions, and to take ownership of brands and customer relations
• Consumer understanding: Have a strong understanding and appreciation of market insights, protocols, practices, and a broad understanding of consumers within the Fabric and Home & Air Care category.
• Project Management skills: Able to prioritise and manage the time of self and the team to effectively contribute to the successful execution of projects 
• A team player and comfortable with cultural diversity
• IT skills - Proficiency in using common PC applications, good MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel skills
• Excellent presentations skills and able to communicate clearly and concisely
