Dispenser I - 2nd shift

Basic Function:

To manually dispense/package finished product and or intermediates approved by Quality Control. 

 

Duties                                                                                                      

  • Manually dispenses/packages product, including verification of container type, location and verification of material to match order and labels, generation of product/sample labels, an inspection of exterior and interior of containers prior to filling, and handling of subdividing/re-packs.
  • Moves material in various size containers that weigh up to 500 lbs using material moving equipment, including but not limited to forklift truck, manual manipulation, pulling, pushing, breaking, and rolling drums. Prepares final packaging for shipment of materials.
  • Works in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and internal safety guidelines and training, including (but not limited to) the maneuver and handling of all containers with proper material-handling equipment, duties involving hazardous wastes, etc.
  • Maintains neat, orderly, and clean shop floor and workplace at all times. Reports any issues or problems to management. 
  • Maintains accurate records of all work functions performed. Logs information as required on daily worksheets. Performs other duties as required

 

Job Specifications

  • Minimum Education/Experience/Skills/Job Knowledge/:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with proficiency in basic mathematical skills (Metric vs. English system) plus 1 – 3 years related experience in a production environment.
  •  Product knowledge including color and odor is preferred, as well as familiarity with computer functions/menus and automated systems are required. 
  • Experience in dispensing or a batch-processing manufacturing environment, barcoding and automated dosing systems and forklift operation is preferred. 
  • Must be capable of performing routine work assignments, multi-tasking, and following instructions with moderate supervision. 
  • Must be hard-working, self-motivated, committed to quality, and recognize the impact of day-to-day activities on the shop floor on customer satisfaction. 
  • Must produce volume within established standards and schedules. Clear communication skills (verbal and written), promptness, consistent attendance, and willingness to work overtime are required. 
  • Must understand work procedures, methods, use of required equipment, and computerized work instructions. 
  • Must be committed to quality and possess the ability to recognize bad or poor ingredients and maximize the use of available resources to increase productivity.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to hot and cold environments, weather, fumes, dust, and gases are frequent. May be required to wear a respirator for chemical exposure.     

 

Physical Demands/Dexterity:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and manipulate, push/pull and roll containers that weigh up to 500 lbs. Constant standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and crouching is required. Use of foot pedals and typing on a computer may be necessary. 

 

Equipment Used:

Will be required to wear a respirator or use a forklift or Hi-Lo as directed.
