Consumers are looking to nutrition to improve their overall wellbeing, embracing a more holistic approach to health by swinging in favor of food and beverages packed with whole food nutrients. Different life stages and lifestyles require different approaches. The role of the microbiome on human health and nutrition is becoming increasingly prominent. As a result, producers are exploring ways to add functionality to their products to meet consumer’s needs. By bringing a ‘natural source’ of a vitamin or ‘microbiome friendly’ ingredients, the food and beverage industry can provide consumers with the benefits they desire.

 

Featuring a host of naturally-derived functional vitamins and prebiotic fiber, our Nutrition and Microbiome ingredient portfolio places you at the forefront of this new movement.

 

Reporting to the Growth Platform Director, you will define and guide the Nutrition and Microbiome strategy for profitable growth. You will lead the Nutrition and Microbiome Ingredient Portfolio for our Taste and Wellbeing Division, to increase our position as the market leader in Natural Nutrition and Microbiome.  This is your chance leverage taste and product development capabilities to develop great tasting products and solutions. For collaboration with our technical teams, this individual contributor role is an onsite position in East Hanover, NJ.

 

  • Strategy and Influence: Define the strategy of the Nutrition and Microbiome category (where to play / how to win). Monitor market dynamics and competitive landscape. Agree on priorities and build supporting business cases for “big bet” innovation with regions. Screen potential partnerships to bring in differentiating technology and innovation. Define the Innovation Roadmap with Science and Technology, Procurement, Regulatory, and regions in line with our goals.

 

  • Operational and Commercialization Execution: Implement the agreed upon strategy and the Innovation Roadmap with key stakeholders. Strengthen the end-to-end value chain for the strategic products. Lead optimization projects of the end-to-end value chain (quality, reliability, cost). Commercialize successful Innovations. Prepare and launch commercialization product Innovations with other regions.

 

  • Inspire and Collaborate: You will oversee the product portfolio and maintain the best performing products, continuously right-sizing and rationalizing. Accountable for our unique Value Proposition of the category and the individual products within the category. Set the pricing strategy of the portfolio with the Pricing Team. Build Nutrition and Microbiome knowledge through out our organization. Share successes and learnings throughout the company and regions. Inspire all partners and customers with exciting marketing concepts.

 

You?

  • BS in Food Science, Nutrition, Business or matching experience in Industry (MA helpful)
  • 10+ years related experience
  • 3+ years in an equivalent leadership position
  • Technical & business knowledge of Functional Food & Beverage market and Nutrition and Microbiome market
  • Customer-focused (internal and external), with a high energy level for success
  • Experience establishing trust and credibility and influencing people at all levels
  • Desire to collaborate and manage cross-functional team projects without direct reports
