Our Taste & Wellbeing Operations’ vision is to become the partner of choice by delivering a positive customer experience and high-quality products in a cost-competitive, safe and sustainable manner. You will have major impact on this through your leadership, strategy, and mentoring as you lead our East Hanover Operations. Our East Hanover, NJ location is a speciality house for us – mainly Beverages and Liquids, and is one of our flag-ship facilities. The opportunity to showcase your abilities is at the center of this on-site role.

 

Reporting to the Head of Operations for NOAM, you will provide Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality and Facilities oversight for the Flavors division in a large site to deliver products to customers on time, applying defined product quality requirements while optimizing production costs. Providing your insight into key management decisions will be of utmost importance, and will be expected as you lead this part of our operations.

 

  • Strategy design and execution: Help design our regional Operations strategy and definition of related goals based on input provided by other departments locally, e.g. Commercial, Regulatory. Based on regional strategy, oversee the design and execution of tactical and operational plans locally to meet functional goals, and project deliverables. Set the standard for operations excellence. Guide the best theories into functional execution points. Set the standard for NOAM Operations. Partner with other site directors to understand their business cases and understand how your site might affect theirs.

 

  • Function management: Provide direction across all Operations sub-functions locally to guide agreement and improve operational visibility. Create organizational cooperation and process integration projects (Operations Excellence) at local/site level which reduce cycle times, increase organizational agility, improve on time delivery and quality of products and increase cost savings opportunities. Work with all teams locally to lead the deployment of a world class safety culture, productivity improvements and inventory reductions. Implement the annual operating plan within approved budget.

 

  • People management: Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes for the function at local level and validate related results. Work with the local Operations management team and HR department in developing a regional talent pipeline for the function. Improve the development and promotion of local talents within and outside the function at local level. Work with Talent Acquisition Managers to understand work-force planning and talent gaps. Work to refine recruitment activities that impact time to fill and quality hire.

 

You?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • Additional education or Master’s Degree in a Technical field is helpful.
  • 15+ years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment with a background in supply chain,
  • quality or materials management, including exposure to M&A projects, organizational change, operational
  • restructuring, business process redesign, systems implementations, enterprise risk for local organizations.
  • 8+years of progressive experience in people management.
  • Expertise in world class manufacturing concepts (LEAN) and understanding of financial concepts (Opex, Capex)
  • Expertise in product industrialization.
