Basic Function (Purpose of Position):

To manually dispense/package finished product and or intermediates approved by Quality Control. 

 

 

  • Dispenses and packages products by operating the filling lines according to SOP.
  • Moves material in various size containers that weigh up to 500 lbs using material handling equipment, manual manipulation, pulling, pushing, and rolling.

  • Performs in-process checks (e.g., visual process inspections, verification of labels, verification of fill weights, etc.).
  • Performs basic troubleshooting to ensure operation efficiency and product quality.
  • Exhibits proficiency in all functions of two of the three skill areas (Manual Filling, Automatic Filling, Water Spider).
  • Maintains neat, orderly and clean shop floor and workplace at all times.
  • Works in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and adheres to internal policies
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

 

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills/Job Knowledge/:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with proficiency in basic mathematical skills (Metric vs. English system) plus 1 – 3 years related experience in production environment.  Product knowledge including color and odor is preferred, as well as familiarity with computer functions/menus and automated systems are required.  Experience in dispensing or a batch-processing manufacturing environment, bar coding and automated dosing systems and forklift operation is preferred.  Basic knowledge of interrelationship between room operations and Bioton, WWTP, and Tank Farms is preferred.  Must be capable of performing routine work assignments, multi-tasking and following instructions with moderate supervision.  Must be hard-working, self-motivated, committed to quality, and recognize the impact of day-to-day activities on the shop floor on customer satisfaction.  Must produce volume within established standards and schedules.  Clear communication skills (verbal and written), promptness, consistent attendance and willingness to work overtime are required.  Must understand work procedures, methods, use of required equipment and computerized work instructions.  Must be committed to quality and possess the ability to recognize bad or poor ingredients and maximize the use of available resources to increase productivity. 

 

Physical Demands/Dexterity:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and manipulate, push/pull and roll containers that weigh up to 150 lbs.  Constant standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and crouching is required.  Use of foot pedals and typing on a computer may be necessary. 

 

Equipment Used:

May be required to wear respirator or use forklift or Hi-Lo as directed.
