Controls and Automation Technician (1st Shift)  - Your future position?

As a Controls and Automation Technician at our Devon manufacturing facility, you will be fundamental in supporting the day-to-day operations of the plant through daily troubleshooting, controls automation, reliability and improvement. You will have the opportunity to support site process improvement initiatives as well. In this role you will:

 

  • Optimize, Maintain and Repair: you will implement reliable controls based automation systems to support operations and engineering with process improvement initiatives. You will optimize, maintain and repair all existing automation systems through reliability initiatives and ensuring systems are up-to-date.

 

  • Instruct and Teach: you will train and instruct Maintenance technicians/mechanics in the troubleshooting and programming of automation systems. You will instruct production personnel in the operation and interfaces of automation systems.

 

  • Repair Controls: you will assist maintenance team in the troubleshooting and repair of controls and automation systems.

 

  • Troubleshoot and Document: you will complete, diagnose and troubleshoot all assigned work orders and provide solutions where necessary. As well, you will ensure proper documentation is maintained on all plant controls and automation systems.

 

  • Instrumentation: you will set up, calibrate,  and troubleshoot various flow, temperature, and pressure sensors

Your professional profile includes:

  • A 2 year technical degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Programming engineering or equivalent experience and education is required. An Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in process controls and PLC programming is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance work experience is requested; Food and/or Chemical industry is preferred.
  • Solid customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Programming is highly desirable.
  • Prioritization of workload with the abiity to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time is needed.
  • Communication skills with all levels of employees.
  • Must be self-driven to implement continuous improvement of processes and controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot all aspects of a controls system.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
