POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Prepare fragrance applications on different bases and provide technical support to meet the needs of creative and development teams, sales teams, and external clients. Validate fragrances to support current projects by Fragrance Evaluation objectives and assist in olfactory evaluations of different projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Responsibilities

In support of the Application Lab Manager, coordinate the activities of the application lab, including sample preparation for internal and external clients and priority setting.

Prepare fragrance applications on different bases to meet the needs of the creative and development teams under their guidance, and ensure their quality, and accuracy. Provide technical support to the creative and development teams, sales teams, and external clients through the application of diverse knowledge.

Act as the laboratory point of contact for specific clients/projects.

Perform color matching and recommend dyes as requested by the client.

Operate and help maintain standard laboratory equipment.

Record and communicate results accurately and quickly.

Resolve technical issues in the application of fragrances to the product.

Prepare and/or deliver technical presentations for internal and external clients.

Network with internal contacts (S&T and other R&D laboratories) and external contacts (suppliers and universities) to exchange and update knowledge.

Conduct performance testing with an internal panel or clients as directed. Marketing/Sales assistance in olfactory mapping.

Participate in meetings related to creating, evaluating, and maintaining fragrance collections.

Attend validation panels to review/evaluate library entries.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Professional degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or similar fields.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

At least 4+ years of experience in a laboratory or product formulation or related field (R&D).

Understanding of laboratory techniques applied to perfumery. Knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Intermediate English

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of good laboratory practices and safe chemical handling.

Technical knowledge of fragrances and fragrance product categories, formulation, and application.

Accurate record-keeping.

Olfactory ability

Knowledge of chemistry

Knowledge of perfumery

Understanding of ISO protocols.
