Project Engineer, your future opportunity?

As a Project Engineer, you will lead the implementation of multi-discipline projects on site from technical design through to successful implementation and commissioning of projects on site. Projects are of a capital or engineering investment nature and vary in size and complexity including site master plans, renovating, engineering studies, new constructions or utilities.

 

You’ll report to the Site Engineering Manager, based in our Cuernavaca site working 100% on site.

 

In this exciting opportunity, you'll:

Strategy design and execution

  • Contribute to the design of the Regional Project Engineering plan by advising its management regarding project feasibility.
  • Prepare business cases, designs related to project plans and coordinate their execution upon approval by sponsor(s) and steering committee(s).

 

Project management

  • Manage capital projects.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimations, credit applications and specifications.
  • Monitor compliance with design and construction parameters, respecting all norms and regulations and EHS.
  • Monitor project execution parameters, including timing, detailed cost estimate, list of deliverables and implement corrective actions whenever necessary.
  • Co-lead tender process with suppliers and contractors.
  • Implement and apply appropriate project monitoring tools.
  • Support project teams in the project execution.
  • Support local project management in resource and contingency planning.
  • Conduct hazard studies, risk assessments and process optimizations.
  • Control contractors on site for the projects managed.
  • Report project status and budgetary control for approved projects.
  • Produce all required design documents.
  • Execute the project plan(s) within approved budget.

 

People management

  • Contribute to the annual human resources processes by providing feedback to line managers regarding performance of project team members.
  • Work with the respective line managers and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a project management capability in the Engineering function.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of functional talents within and outside the Engineering function.

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering or Maintenance Certification
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in factory engineering/maintenance, including management of multiple process engineering projects involving resources from diverse disciplines.
  • 1 year of experience in people management.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations.
  • Good command in project management, using TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project controlling tools.
  • Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
