Transport Manager, your future role?

 

You will lead inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, safety performance, and logistics quality management for our Taste & Wellbeing manufacturing facilities in Mexico.

 

You will work on-site in Cuernavaca, Morelos, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. We’ll ask you to reside nearby the plant.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

Strategy design and execution

  • Contribute to the design of the local Operations strategy by providing input regarding Logistics plans and improvement initiatives.
  • Elaborate the annual Logistics road map and oversee the execution of related activities to meet local Operations objectives.

 

Function management

  • Lead the Logistic/Transport department ensuring achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy and objectives and resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports and exports, and customer issues.
  • Monitor product import and export processes and conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  • Design, deploy and maintain local logistics SOPs following corporate policies or procedure.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, shipping or recommend purchase of new or improved technology, such as automated systems.
  • Analyze all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-efficient material flow whether related to routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning to develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
  • Maintain metrics, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
  • Establish models and metrics for use in evaluating logistics performance.
  • Maintain material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
  • Control that warehouse operations are conducted in compliance with company (EHS) guidelines and public safety regulation.
  • Monitor training programs for warehouse and distribution center staff to strengthen capabilities.

 

People management

  • Lead the site Logistics/Transport team, with a focus on developing them.
  • Conduct annual human resources processes for your team.
  • Work with the local Operations management team and HR Business Partner in developing a local talent pipeline in for the function.

Your professional profile includes:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in inbound and outbound logistics in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in people management, leading and developing direct reports.
  • Knowledge of transportation supplier landscape, material flow systems and technologies, local and international material/product safety/security norms and regulations, and of supply chain function and processes.
  • Proficiency in shipping and receiving regulations and protocol.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean).
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Advanced level of English, both oral and written.
