Project Engineer - Your Future Position?

 

Purpose

Leads the implementation of multi discipline projects on site from justification and technical design throughto successful implementation and commissioning of projects on site. Projects are of a capital or engineering investment nature and vary in size and complexity including site master plans, renovating, engineering studies, new constructions or utilities.

 

Responsibilities

Strategy design and execution

  • Contribute to the design of the Regional Project Engineering plan by advising its management regarding project feasibility.
  • Prepare business cases, designs related to project plans and coordinates their execution upon approvalby sponsor(s) and steering committee(s).

 

Project management

  • Manage capital projects and studies.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimations, credit applications and specifi cations, etc…
  • Monitor compliance with design and construction parameters, respecting all norms and regulations and EHS.
  • Monitor project execution parameters, including timing, detailed cost estimate, list of deliverables and implement corrective actions whenever necessary.
  • Co-lead tender process with suppliers and contractors.
  • Implement and apply appropriate project monitoring tools.
  • Support project teams in the project execution.
  • Support local project management in resource and contingency planning.
  • Conduct hazard studies, risk assessments and process optimisations.
  • Control contractors on site for the projects managed.
  • Report project status and budgetary control for approved projects.
  • Produce all required design documents.
  • Executes the project plan(s) within approved budget.

 

People management

  • Contributes to the annual human resources processes by providing input to line managers regarding performance of project team members.
  • Works with the respective line managers and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a project management capabilities in the Engineering function.
  • Contributes to the development and promotion of functional talents within and outside the Engineering function.

 

Academic Background

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering or Maintenance Certification

 

Professional Experience

 

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in factory engineering / maintenance, including management of multi-country/multiple process engineering projects involving resources from diverse disciplines.
  • 1 year of experience in people management preferred
  • Experience in working with diverse cultures and multidiscipline specialists (internal and external).
  • Experience in working in complex/matrix organizations (incl. Global CoE setup).

 

Technical Skills

  • Good command in project management, using TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project controlling tools.
  • Good command in stakeholder management and communications.
  • Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of fi nancial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
  • Good negotiation skills to support procurement to manage contractors
