Senior Application Technologist - Your future position?

As the Senior Application Technologist, you will lead customer projects, converting them into successful new wins through effective flavour applications. Your role involves providing technical expertise to drive operational excellence and fostering strong collaboration with customers, aligned with business objectives and EH&S policies. This position is based in Kelana Jaya, Selangor, reporting to the Technical Head.

Sounds interesting? In this exciting role you also will be responsible in:

• Execute daily tasks based on project briefs, utilizing the Flavour Portfolio or developing alternative flavour solutions aligned with profile, cost, and regulatory requirements.

• Lead flavour evaluations in food applications for project briefs, research initiatives, and portfolio reviews.

• Test and implement new tools and technologies from Regional Innovation in food applications, applying them to customer projects.

• Support proactive marketing promotions by providing technical insights and creating impactful demos for customer presentations.

• Serve as the technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications.

• Coach, train, and mentor technicians and technologists as needed.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, earning their trust and respect.

• Actively manage and update the performance database of the flavour portfolio through regular evaluations in finished products.

• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized lab environment, adhering to EH&S policies, and holding others accountable for compliance.

Your professional profile includes:

• Minimum 5-6 years of experience in a similar role,

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Master's graduates with 3+ years of experience are also encouraged to apply.

• Relevant industry experience in food & beverages, FMCG, or the flavours industry.

• Essential experience working in a lab environment, with strong knowledge of formulation, ingredients, manufacturing processes, and chemistry procedures.

• Solid chemistry knowledge to understand flavour-matrix interactions and recommend flavour modifications.

• Proven project management skills, particularly for large development projects.

• Strong presentation skills for internal and customer-facing presentations.

• Ability to translate market trends into innovative product solutions for key customers.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

• Independent and proactive, with a willingness to ask questions and take the lead.

• Agile, mature, and adaptable.

• Digital/tech-savvy candidates are highly preferred, ideally with experience in ERP or SAP systems.

• Able to work in Kelana Jaya.
