Human Rights Specialist - Your next role?

 

As a Human Rights Specialist, you will sit in the Global Sustainability Department of Givaudan and be part of the wider Responsible Sourcing & Social Sustainability Team under the guidance of the Social Sustainability and Human Rights Manager. The Social Sustainability programs are focusing on social, management systems, human rights, and ethics & compliance aspects at Givaudan sites & Joint Ventures and in our supply chains. The Human Rights specialist supports the implementation of the Social Sustainability and Human Rights strategy and program globally, focusing on internal and external Human Rights aspects and contributing to strategic initiatives.

You will work in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders including RS managers (naturals, synthetics, indirect materials & services), procurement, global and site operations, EHS and HR teams.

Multiple location: Argenteuil (France), Ashford (UK), Naarden (Netherlands), Dortmund (Germany), Sant Celoni (Spain), Vernier (Switzerland), Kemptthal (Switzerland)

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

You will support the daily management of the social compliance program for Givaudan sites and will contribute to the social sustainability program management, monitoring of KPIs, and disclosure. Furthermore, the HR specialist will manage dedicated supply chain projects, represent Givaudan in supply chain initiatives and work on key topics such as child and forced labour, working conditions, living income, and grievance mechanism.

 

  • Support Givaudan's Social compliance assurance audits programme by working with our Global Sustainability Solutions team, site teams, and audit houses

  • Develop human rights projects including detailed execution and smooth business integration in collaboration with all partners

  • Build advocacy for strategic Human Rights Projects and Initiatives throughout the business, and use our communications platforms to bring visibility to these programs

  • Monitor the evolving legal landscape and voluntary framework development to ensure Givaudan’s program is aligned

  • Support reporting and disclosure efforts incl. annual report, position statements, modern slavery statements, internal reporting, etc.

  • Build competency on Human Rights within Givaudan and with our suppliers through engagement and training

  • Develop and monitor key Human Rights KPIs and the impact of the program.

  • Contribute to the implementation of effective Human Rights Due Diligence processes in line with international best practice

  • Support the revision and development of new internal and external policies and procedures

  • Promote the continuous improvement of social practices and Givaudan’s Human Rights program

 

Your successful profile includes:

 

  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in sustainability, sustainable development, and human rights

  • Master's degree in these fields additional advantage

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in human rights and social sustainability management in a global business environment

  • Experience in the FMCG sector or chemicals/ingredients sector

  • Fluent English

  • Good project management skills

  • Research skills, and strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Autonomous and comfortable with cross-functional set-ups

  • Willingness to travel up to 10-15% a year
