Product Development Technologist Baked Goods (m/f/d)

As an application technologist in Product Development, you will be to be part of the Regional Innovation Sweet Goods group, Taste and Wellbeing. You will create new baked goods products: applying new flavours / profiles, new ingredient trials and research.

You will be part of a supportive, diverse and responsible team which is already curious to meet you.

This role is based in Kemptthal (Switzerland) and you will report to the Sweet Goods Manager.

 

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:

Evaluation and selection of flavours & ingredients

  • Apply and evaluate flavours for Bakery products for relevant briefs
  • Monitor flavour & ingredients performance and stability
  • Select flavours & ingredients for projects according to all relevant requirements (taste profile, legislation, technical suitability, costs)
  • Prepare state-of-the-art flavoured products and samples for customer presentations and capability demonstrations
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies
  • Translate market trends into new product concepts and developments
  • Participate in evaluations of flavours in food products for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
  • Lead tasting sessions and presentations to customers/visitors
  • Collect information from the markets and external sources and prepare data
  • Develop concept presentations and present flavours and flavoured ready-to-eat products to customers and provide technical support
  • Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio by evaluating finished products and capturing profiles and recipes

Innovation

  • Support in developing new technologies by working with the broader teams within the region and the wider Givaudan
  • Support marketing programs, and train our commercial force and customers on our new capabilities

Knowledge sharing and expertise

  • Be a technical expert and advisor for Bakery products to the marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers
  • Establish and maintain relationships with our main customers, and able to gain their trust and respect

Prioritise safety

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised lab environment by Givaudan safety policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Your professional profile includes:

  • A Master Degree in Food Science or Food Technology or a Bachelor's degree and experience in Food Science or Food Technology (As an advantage advanced studies or certifications)
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience focusing on product development for the Bakery category
  • Experience in industrial product development and leading customer projects
  • Passionate about new flavours and foods with well-developed tasting skills
  • A good awareness of market trends
  • Business Fluent in English; additional language skills are welcome
  • Team-focused work style
