Sustainability Manager Flavour

As Sustainability Manager you will support the Head of Sustainability, Flavours in further translating Givaudan's sustainability agenda into plans for the Flavours Division.

You will bring Givaudan’s corporate purpose to life and cement Givaudan’s position as customer partner of choice.


You will work in close collaboration with Divisional partners and under the guidance of the Sustainability Leadership Team while encouraging agreement and consistency with the Fragrance division. You will be based in Kemptthal reporting directly to the Head of Sustainability Flavours.

You will:


Engage with Divisional Partners

  • Represent the Flavour Division within the overall Givaudan Sustainability strategy
  • Engage and collaborate with Divisional partners on Sustainability topics, helping to further embed sustainability practices within the Division and applying the contribution of Givaudan’s Flavour portfolio to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Advise the Division in expressing sustainability within portfolio value propositions, such as around environmental and societal claims

Translate Givaudan’s sustainability agenda into Divisional plans

  • Determine the translation of Givaudan’s purpose and sustainability agenda into specific Divisional plans with a clear roadmap
  • Lead the implementation of selected Sustainability projects in cooperation with the nominated team members across Divisions and Functions
  • Bring expertise and outside-in perspective on Sustainability relevant to the Division, particularly around food and sustainability
  • Contribute to the development of company position statements related to Sustainability aspects

Engage with Customers

  • Partner with team members in maintaining the database of customer queries on sustainability; determine responses based on latest company positions and a forward-looking view on emerging trends and market needs
  • Create responses to “non-standard” customer queries, and validate proposed responses with key stakeholders in the Division and the Sustainability team
  • Identify and lead improvement of processes (to assist with efficient responses to customers)
  • Guide customer teams in customer dialogues on sustainability

Contribute to audit, sustainability assurance process and communications

  • Prepare and collate Divisional information and evidence for corporate and internal reporting and acting as an important contact for auditors
  • Contribute to and validate sustainability communications
  • Represent Givaudan in selected internal and external events

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree,in Business/ Marketing/ Strategy. Additional degree or experience in Corporate Sustainability or equivalent
  • 10 years experience in a Global business environment- experience in area of Sustainability Strategy /Marketing/ Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Experience in the FMCG sector or chemicals/ ingredients sector is of advantage
  • Business Fluent in English, local language a plus
  • Research skills and experienced in solving problems
  • Experienced in working and shaping at multiple levels
  • Autonomous and comfortable with cross functional set-ups
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Very good coordination and facilitation skills
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Passion for sustainability and a belief in how businesses can make a positive contribution to a better future
