Join us as our next Head of Operations, Lakeland reporting to our Head of Natural Ingredients, Ops Americas. You will be responsible for a Natural Ingredient manufacturing site within the Taste & Wellbeing Operations. You will work on the manufacturing of ingredients for the food industry and consumer products (B2B). You will implement and sustain most efficient operations standards for safety, health & environmental protection, manufacturing and supply chain, product quality, food safety and quality management systems, utilities and resource use, as applicable. Ypu will also participate in short and long term site planning, determine basic operating policies, establish projects and tasks, and will be a member of the Americas Natural Ingredients Operations Leadership Team

You will:

 

Drive Safety and Sustainability

  • Ensure safe and environmentally responsible environment
  • Safeguards assets under responsibility

Drive Operations Strategy

  • Develops and executes:
    • Site master plan
    • 5-10 years site development plan
    • Develop budget and annual tactical planning with leadership team and stakeholders, based on Regional Operations and business strategy

 

Drive Operations Excellence

  • Implement programs and drives continuous improvement to achieve key performance goals and to reduce cost/kg
  • Define / implement operations procedures defined by Taste & Wellbeing best practices
  • Communicate with the commercial leads and other regional peers to ensure understanding of commercial and regional / site operations strategies and programs (e.g. S&OP)
  • Ensure repair of assets under responsibility to sustain the asset performance & reliability
  • Ensure on-time, in-budget and in-quality implementation of all approved CAPEX projects, following regional and global Engineering plans / practices
  • Drive safety, service, quality and cost (including inventory management) to the best levels

 

Drive People Management

  • Create an environment for high performance, including building a team, driving engagement and inspiring the team for excellence
  • Manage and enrich talent pool, including performance management, individual development and succession planning, career mapping and gap analysis

 

Drive Key Projects

  • Align with the Americas Natural Ingredients vision and roll out projects
  • Promote management of culture change through the deployment of continuous improvement(LEAN) programs at the site
  • Support implementation of Supply Chain and Manufacturing Excellence program

 

Decision-making authority

  • Independent decisions on most local operational issues on a daily basis and at tactical level along with established company procedures
  • Make recommendation to Regional Operations on strategic programs and investment proposals and implement accordingly. Ensure overall understanding of all partners within Corporate and Divisional functions, excluding powers reserved by the Company Mgr.
  • Accountable for the safety, health and welfare of the workforce
  • Accountable for all established budgets and for maintaining excellent customer service and quality performance

 

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in food, chemical, science, engineering or economics
  • 10 + years of related experience of which min. 3 years in an equivalent leadership position
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing / Supply Chain processes with knowledge of chemical or food processing, manufacturing system and supply chain management (in consumer goods industry of advantage)
  • Understanding of accounting, budgeting, capital justification and ability tocomprehend standardized reports
  • Understanding of ISO, FSCC, Food Safety (HACCP, AIB or equivalent), GHP and GMP requirements, EHS.
  • Talent development, experience building teams, communication and change management
