Commercial Controller - GFI

Creating clear market leadership in the ingredients business, most notably in essential oils, Ungerer – part of Givaudan, provides a rich palette of predominantly natural ingredients for flavor and fragrance creation, and for end customers of such specialties. Ungerer is headquartered in New Jersey, with a presence in more than 60 countries.

 

Reporting to the Head of Ingredients Controlling and Pricing, this Lincoln Park, NJ-based position supports the strategies and development of our newly created Givaudan Flavor Ingredients (GFI) Business Unit, with interpretive and predictive analysis to promote decisions to be made by commercial management, leading to sustainable growth and enhanced profitability.

 

  • Support Sales and Marketing: You are the controlling business-partner of the GFI Sales and Marketing team worldwide. You will provide analysis and guidance and will lead meetings to communicate on performance. Identify opportunities and develop corrective actions together with the team to meet identified targets, both financial and non-financial.

 

  • Influence Financial Planning: Develop, in collaboration with your partners, the budget by market, customer, and product. Prepare forecasts to provide visibility on the performance and help reach the targets. Assist to develop the commercial 5 year business plan.

 

  • Build Financial Performance Reporting: Perform monthly review of actual performance versus target/prior year (Sales, Margin, OPex, headcount and overall performance). Develop measurements and reports. Ensure data accuracy. Work with the Givaudan organization for improvement, streamlining and automation of reporting processes. Support projects needed to achieve the controlling priorities.

 

You?

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Economics or Accounting with emphasis on data analytics and interpretation. Master's degree helpful.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in the areas of controlling/finance with international background
  • Business mindset; ability to understand and simplify needs of your team and translate into value
  • Similar industry exposure (FMCG, Manufacturing)
  • Advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets), SAP knowledge (Finance and Operation Modules) very helpful
