EHS Specialist - Makó (Hungary) - Your future position?

 

Overall mission:

 

Our mission is to empower our EHS Specialist to promote a culture of safety and sustainability, ensuring the well-being of our team in Makó. Together, we work towards excellence in flavor production while maintaining the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety practices in every aspect of our operations. You will be based in Makó, reporting to the EHS Manager.

 

You will:

 

  • Plan and perform EHS (environment, health & safety, fire prevention and site security) related tasks on the Makó operation site as follows:
  • Ensure compliance with Hungarian EHS regulations and Givaudan EHS directives
  • Implement and enforce of Givaudan Environment, Health and Safety policy, programmes and procedures at Mako operations, and supply other departments with professional support to ensure adherence
  • Assist the EHS manager and if needed directly the site/company manager with health and safety issues, technical and personal safety equipment and compliance with legal regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments for the Mako site and define risk reduction actions in cooperation with co-departments to prevent accidents
  • Monitor the exposure to hazardous substances in cooperation with co-departments
  • Manage emergencies procedures and lead follow-up investigations of work related incidents and emergencies
  • Conduct EHS inspections / audits across the site to improve
  • Take part in organizing and accomplishing the waste management activities of the plant, and monitor the waste management process on site
  • Environmental, Health & Safety reporting off-site to HQ and authorities
  • Keep liaison with competent authorities
  • Partner with Givaudan's EHS organizations
  • Promote and advocate for safe behaviors and protection of the environment throughout the site
  • Lead EHS projects and give professional support for EHS related project led by other departments
  • Develop, understand, report, and use Indicators to improve performance
  • Support contractor management according to the Givaudan directives
  • On-site inspection of construction activities
  • Assist on the installation and equipment acceptance test (EHS specification acceptance, test protocols, management of compliance documentation)

 

General rules:

 

  • Ensure conformity with food safety (HACCP) and quality management regulations (e.g. FSSC 22000)
  • During working , You will keep the Food Safety principles in mind and aim to increase food safety awareness in all circumstances
  • Comply with Health and Safety and Fire protection regulations
  • Comply with management regulations and other directives and act

 

You:

 

  • Higher education in technical field (chemical engineer, mechanical engineer, environmental engineer)
  • Appropriate national safety qualification
  • Environmental protection qualification (advantage)
  • Appropriate national fire safety qualification (adv.)
  • Certification on ATEX knowledge (adv.)
  • 2+ years professional experience in EHS field in multinational environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English, native Hungarian knowledge
  • Usage of IT applications
