Beverage Application Technologist - Your future position?
Location: Malmö, Sweden
Reporting to: Technical Manager Northern Europe
Purpose
Support customer projects, and research process by preparing and selecting flavours, offering guidelines related to flavour modifications and maintaining data relevant to flavour portfolio, according to EH&S policies and business needs.
Primary Responsibilities
New product development
- Develop flavoured food products for beverage customer projects, presentations and research projects
- Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e., customer, regulatory, legislation, and cost)
- Lead in evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
- Creating exciting tasting sessions and presentations to customers/visitors
- Co-creation with customers
- Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales and customers
Flavour Portfolio Management
- Manage flavour data and support the Northern Europe flavour collection
- Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
Academic Background
- Diploma/Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Food Science/Technology or Chemistry
Professional Experience
- 3 to 4 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
- Experience in product development for beverages (CSDs, alcoholic drinks, juice compounds)
- Experience in sweet goods and dairy applications are a plus
- Experience in product/industry commercialization is a plus
Language skills
- English fluency in speaking and writing
- Nordic language is a plus
Technical Skills
- Understanding of most food ingredients when used in beverage application
- Knowledge of most beverage recipes and production processes
- Tasting skills and ability to describe the flavour profile of the product and provide direction to flavourists for flavour Modifications
- Experience with the most common flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
- presentation skills, both interpersonal and to presenting concepts to clients
- Experience in managing projects independently and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
