Senior Maintenance Technician - Your future position?

 

As the Senior Maintenance Technician , you will perform routine and complex repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment installations with minimal supervision and in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to site operations. You will be based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka reporting to the Senior Site Engineer.

 

Sounds interesting? In this exciting role you also will be responsible in:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and advanced troubleshooting and repairs of production and facility equipment, proactively identifying and resolving recurring maintenance issues in the assigned area.

  • Conduct electrical or mechanical installation, repair, and troubleshooting of motors, instrumentation, and controls.

  • Identify deviations and document/communicate them in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Monitor contractors on small maintenance projects.

  • Work in accordance with all relevant requirements, including but not limited to ATEX, GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and internal safety guidelines.

  • Participate in lean activities.

  • Maintain housekeeping, sanitation, food safety, and safety standards in line with company guidelines.

  • Perform administrative duties, including creating and closing work requests using the maintenance management system (SAP).

  • Assist the Maintenance Lead and/or Supervisor in delivering technical training to staff and following up on work orders.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Your professional profile includes:

  • 5 or more years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and Maintenance of Equipment, Machineries, and Utilities (in a matrixed organization preferred).

  • Educational background in Diploma or Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) in engineering-related fields.

  • Relevant manufacturing industry background, such as food, chemicals, plastic, or semiconductor, is ideal.

  • Boilerman certificate or 2 years of experience using a boiler is preferred.

  • Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.

  • Proficient in the safe utilization of hand tools and equipment for the installation, disassembly, and testing of electronic, pneumatic, and electrical devices.

  • Ability to operate forklift and good mechanical and/or electrical abilities, e.g., welding, plumbing, pipefitting, or electrical work is advantageous.

  • Skilled in creating, sketching, and redlining standard machine and process drawings, while also delivering concise and precise instructions.

  • Basic knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong learning agility, adaptability and problem-solving skills.

  • Responsible, proactive, and independent.

  • Able to work in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
