Key Account Manager - Your future position?

Location: Melbourne/Sydney

Reporting to: Head of Functional Solutions

As Key Account Manager at Givaudan, you will manage a portfolio of customers, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and driving business growth. This role may include managerial responsibilities for a small country/area, overseeing account activities and ensuring alignment across teams. You will building strong customer relationships, executing account strategies, and contributing to the overall success of the business.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Account Growth & Profitability Management

  • Drive revenue growth for designated accounts by effectively managing both sales (top line) and profitability (bottom line)

  • Lead negotiations for pricing agreements within established guidelines, managing credit, pricing, and rebates for key accounts to maximise profitability

  • Actively defend and protect Givaudan's base business in key markets and with key customers, ensuring retention and satisfaction while identifying opportunities for expansion

Account Strategy & Planning

  • Create, communicate, and implement strategic Annual Development Plans (ADPs), sales forecasts, and budgets for key accounts, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives

  • Define and track clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success and guide decision-making

  • Oversee the quality and quantity of projects within the pipeline to ensure alignment with growth plans, proactively addressing any issues that may arise

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer decision-makers, positioning Givaudan as their preferred supplier through trust and value delivery

  • Take the lead in coordinating all Givaudan activities related to designated accounts, ensuring alignment across teams and a unified approach to customer engagement

  • Continuously analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, adjusting strategies accordingly

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Technical, Regional Account Managers, and Operations) to ensure that customer needs are met and that Givaudan delivers on its commitments

Professional Development

  • Engage in ongoing learning and development to stay current with industry trends, Givaudan's offerings, and best practices in account management

 

Main Requirements

  • 4-6 years successful sales, marketing or customer relationship experience in food or related industry

  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills to develop comprehensive Annual Development Plans (ADPs) that align with business objectives and drive growth

  • In-depth understanding of customer profiles, preferences, and competitive landscape, enabling effective positioning of business offerings

  • Strong understanding of customer strategies, initiatives, priorities, and launch processes, allowing for tailored solutions that meet customer needs and enhance business' value proposition

  • Experience in identifying unmet customer needs and effectively generating new business opportunities, leveraging insights to propose innovative solutions
