Creations Laboratory Coordinator – Fragrance & Beauty, your future role?

You will work for a company that touches billions of consumers more than a hundred times a day. Working on-site in our corporate offices in Polanco, Mexico City, and reporting to the Creation & Application Laboratories’ Manager, you will join a team of passionate shapers of the best fragrances in the world.

As the Coordinator of our Creations Laboratory, you will lead a team of Perfumers’ assistants and oversee the daily lab operations to guarantee an effective fragrance preparation following our goals and EH&S policies, promoting the growth of our Fragrance & Beauty business in Mexico and Central America.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Creation lab coordination

• Coordinate the activities of our Creation lab, including preparation of samples for internal and external customers and definition of priorities.
• Be the lab’s point of contact for specific customers and projects.
• Communicate with Evaluators, Perfumers, Sales and Operations on status of projects and sample requests and ensure delivery.
• Help define Creation lab protocols and procedures with other teams.
• Safely operate, maintain and organise lab equipment.
• Manage raw materials and chemical precursors stock.
• Be the Sanitary Responsible.
• Review and manage all the activities related with chemical precursors or essentials chemicals.
• Attend internal and external audits (ISO, GMPs, COFEPRIS).
• Create the monthly main indicators’ report.

People Management

• Manage a team of Perfumers’ assistants and plan, organise and improve their work.
• Manage the team’s workload and assign formulas to each of its members accordingly.
• Provide them with training.

Knowledge Sharing & Expertise

• Network with internal partners to exchange and update knowledge.
• Provide technical support to Creation, Development and Sales teams, and to external customers.

Environmental Health & Safety

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies.
• Monitor compliance with the EH&S requirements of the supervised employees and understand the hazards and risk in your area.

Your professional profile must include:

• University degree in Chemistry or other related science field.
• At least 5 years of experience in similar role in Product Development or Creation in the fragrances or consumer products industries and in multinational companies, with 3 years leading a team in a laboratory environment.
• Technical knowledge of fragrances and fragrance composition, product categories, formulation and application.
• Technical knowledge of EH&S guidelines, good laboratory practice and safe handling of chemicals.
• Knowledge of lab equipment and its safe usage.
• Perfumery knowledge.
• Understanding of ISO protocols.
• Knowledge of analytical testing protocols.
• Olfactory ability.
• Knowledge of Research and Development.
• Advanced level of English, both oral and written.
