Job Purpose

As a Savoury Development Technologist, you are a technical expert and advisor for our savoury customers in the UK and Ireland. You'll be part of a passionate team that works together to develop concepts and demonstrate innovative flavour solutions, stocks and pastes. You embody the Givaudan Superior Customer Experience philosophy working on customer projects, as well as preparing and selecting flavourings, stocks and pastes that help our customers win in the marketplace. Maintain relevant data to sustain the savoury flavour portfolio, according to EH&S policies and business needs.

 

You will:

  • Develop and prepare innovative concepts and products in savoury food applications to fulfil the requirements of reactive and proactive projects.

  • Develop stocks and pastes that deliver superior taste and functionality for customers whilst maintaining the integrity of food safety.

  • Have a knowledge of flavouring savoury food and food production methods.

  • Build a working knowledge of our savoury flavour portfolio and select suitable flavours from the portfolio to meet customer and technical requirements and restrictions.

  • Support and help evaluate flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluation. Maintaining flavour data and recipe documentation for food products tasting and presentations

  • Manage customer projects from initiation to successful completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards and keep systems and records up to date.

  • Support and lead inspiring workshops, tasting sessions and joint development sessions with customers that deliver outstanding customer experience.

  • Collaborate and maintain active exchanges with colleagues, internal stakeholders and our customers.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, efficiently stocked and organised lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies.

  • Be instrumental in identifying both issues and improvements that support a well-run laboratory environment.

 

You have:

  • 3+ Years of experience in product development or the flavour industry, particularly in the Savoury sector

  • B.Sc. in Food Science or Food related degree or Master's degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology

  • Solid expertise in formulation, processing and stability of savoury products

  • Knowledge of multiple savoury products and their production processes

  • Clear understanding of financial aspects of flavour selection and product development

  • Strong tasting skills with the ability to effectively describe the flavour profile of the product and provide direction to flavourists for flavour modifications.

  • An understanding of the most common flavour reactions/interactions in food products

  • Experience leading customer briefs.Experience in transforming market trends into innovative products tailored to specific customer needs.
